DTD £300 Day 2

50 players left    avg stack 78k   36 paid

Villain is Tall Anon (Pete Linton) and is CL with circa 300k covering our 75k stack.

There is no real history between us other than we both know each other and its the first level of day 2 with blinds at 1200/2400/300, I double up the first hand of the day to get to 75k having made the same raise in a similar pos with  .

Next orbit we raise to 5100 with  and it folds to villain in the sb who picks up a stack of purples (5000) and places them across the line setting me all in.

My thoughts are that Pete is one of the best players left in the tournament and if he had a premium holding he 3bets to 11-13k and therefore his range is A10+ and all pairs I crush and he does not want to put himself in a spot where i jam over the 3b plus he thinks I will fold all my range except 99+ AQs AK.

Is my thought process correct?
Standard Call?
Not worried about losing the hand more if this is an easy call or fold but never tell anyone spot..

I don't actually mind folding.

You could be flipping.

You could be crushing 88 or 99

You could be crushed by JJ or QQ

I can't see many other hands in his range here.

Your raise size and stack means he's probably set mining the smaller pairs.

With no real history I can happily lay this down. Not because it's for my 'tourney life' but because I'm not a huge favourite against the range I think he's got.

I disagree with the set mining comment. IMO hes more likely to fold 66 and down and ship the gold with 77-JJ here. It cant be a profitable set mine here with 22 oop to a guy with 70k behind right?

he should dedf not be set mining small pairs and should def not be shoving premiums as we have a perfect 4bshove stack. its just such a standard call and given the fact he is so aggro/ool its a super standard fistpump call as we DO dominate alot of his range which i think is primarily pocket pairs. im saying this known the result fwiw.

yeah i fist pumped called even though when he knocked out 2 players on the first orbit he said they were the 6th and 7th flips he had won in a row this tourney, and the result is irelevant just wanted to know it's the correct decision as we have a top 10 stack when we win the flip and can the go ftw
