Most phone service providers can tell if you're tethering, some contracts don't allow it, might be another consideration.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me i didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life.

Not too concerned by that as I have an O2 staff contract with absolute unlimited use

Links to jailbreak stuff I'm really green with all this stuff, not kept on top of technology last few years

It was just a case of turning tethering on on my iphone, then it worked straight away.
Think it was called Personal Hotspot or something similar, this is on iphone 4 Vodaphone.

Works perfectly, use it a lot.

O2 don't allow it by default as they want to charge you for it. (this was the case 3 months ago but may have changed now). On orange it works out of the box since September 1st.

O2 still charge for it, very easy to do and well worth it. Better than a new 3g contract as well
