I am officially starting this on Monday. Been off on holiday this week, sigh. Had to put in 90% of holidays in January. Wasn't realy planning Vegas but as things worked out my Mrs forgot to put her holiday in at same time as me and when she went to book it someone else in her department had it off so our regular September jolly was no longer on. I put in a holiday in May as got the 5 days for price of 4.
I digress. Anyway, I will take my weight on Sunday, I am also going to take measurements so I can monitor progress that way as going to put in a bit of effort to get the fitness levels up. Going to sack the gym as I have been paying and not going, so I have the punch bag up, ordered a new pair of 16oz gloves today along with some skipping ropes and a
pedometer
. Going to put in a lot more walking. Previously when dieting/cutting out I used to take a half our walk at lunch but this hasn't been case in last 8 months. So going to get back into that.
Also really need to get a meal plan together. I don't mind cooking, I actually enjoy it but by time I get in from work I am drained for the first hour and just eat whatever is in fridge/cupboard. Anyone reccomend any decent diet plan or site that gives some good suggestions?
If your getting a pedometer have a look at a Fitbit, posh pedometer but very useful and can be very motivational. Good luck.
In other news:
Haven't been to the gym for my weigh in as I have been quite unwell. Apart from my four day holiday I have still pretty much stuck to what I have said I would do. Happy with how it is going and now I'm feeling a bit better I can resume hitting my 12k steps a day, hopefully.

Been faffing about for a month now. This vegan diet is amazing and makes me feel better than before, but i have 2-3 stones to still cut off in fat, and i have reached the ceiling of what my diet can do for me in weight loss alone, need to introduce daily exercise to get the losses now.
Going to be as hard as being a meat eater all my life and converting at the start of this year, to exercise daily from now on. Just need to plow through.
Reason for my averse nature to exercise? I am impatient. It is gut-wrenching to exercise unfit as i get agitated i am not fully fit yet, i get pissed off, then i avoid doing it.
Resolution? Exercise despite the discomfort and revel that its getting easier daily and just think about the long game.
Also I am not sure what my natural weight is at all. When i start doing weights and building muscle, i might actually have a natural resting athletic weight of 17st for all i know. I am going to convert my measure of progress to my body fat percentage soon.
Keep it up the rest of you too. Progress has been good from all of you, and it is a matter of maturing from the toughness of progress and then maintaining that dominance.
Once I crack the exercise debacle i am not going to have weight problems again, and that will be within the next week or two. Also have to say posting on here has been a great help and the support from others has been awesome, and it definitely made it a lot less of a lonely experience getting through some hard times with this, so take a bow the lot of you.

Also really need to get a meal plan together. I don't mind cooking, I actually enjoy it but by time I get in from work I am drained for the first hour and just eat whatever is in fridge/cupboard. Anyone reccomend any decent diet plan or site that gives some good suggestions?
I'm going to make a couple of suggestions that work for me.
My first suggestion is a very simple and effective solution to your problem. I will bold it and underline it, and probably increase the size of the text just to really drive it home.
Don't stock your kitchen with crap.
There we are.
I know all about getting home and feeling drained, most days I do this twice: after 60-90 minutes of intense exercise at the gym, and at anywhere between 4-7am after a long shift at work. I drop my bags at the door, turn on my laptop, put on my favourite shorts and go for the fridge. Let me make a list of what I'm confronted with right now. brb.
Butterbeans
Turkey
Beef
Eggs
Mushrooms
Red Peppers
Spinach
Turkey Sausages
Broccoli
Asparagus
Green Beans
Baby Leeks
Strawberries
Blackberries
Cucumber
Milk
Okay with what I have in my fridge, about 30 seconds prep and 4 minutes cooking time: I can boil myself a couple of eggs, throw some veg on a plate and some fruit in a bowl. Done. Now you might look at that and think "that's not a meal!" but no doubt I'd look at your plate of whatever you pulled out of the fridge and think the same thing.
Another good solution is to cook when you
do
have the time and energy. While you're putting your rancher's omelette together in the morning, you can put the oven on and cook yourself a serving or two of whatever you plan on having in the evening. That way, when you get home, you only have to take the salmon and sweet potato out of the fridge, put some veg on to boil for 4-5 minutes, season and consume!
Eventually the above will become habit, I promise you. In a month's time you will wonder why you were ever eating what you are eating now straight after work when
clean and healthy is just as quick and simple.
As for a meal plan, there's no need to go overboard. What I do from time to time is write down everything I eat for a week and then add up the daily calories and macronutrients (protein, carbs and fats). After doing this a few times, I now have a mental picture of roughly what I can eat, how much of it I can eat and how frequently I can eat it. This, of course, assumes you know how many calories and how much protein you should be eating per day. If you don't know, there are a rough online calculators you can use, or you can drop me a PM.
Good luck.

gl kmac with your journey. One thing i would recommend is to try and drink water only and bin all other drinks. If you like drinking water that is. It will make a big difference if you cut out fizzy drinks, fruit juice, sugar/milk in tea/coffee etc. Before you know it you can have binned 500 cals + a day off your total without even trying.

Really annoyed with myself I've eat crap all week with the only excuse of I am working away
Which I can't really use as !!
Yes I have to eat in pubs etc but I don't have to eat a pack of cookies on the way or a big bag of minstrels at the hotel whilst watching tv !
Need to get motivated again and stop just giving up !

Stay focused Lee. The more you do this the more Tikay is right. It's literally 100% mental this diet game. I had a couple of weeks of standing still when i was at DTD for the weekend for the ukipt. The beer was tempting. Meeting up with guys you haven't seen for a while. Everyone has their own issues to overcome on this diet game which are always mental 99% of the time. Your issue seems to be working away which is tough and fraught with temptations when you love a beer etc etc staying in pubs and the food that goes with it.

I do like Water mate tea why i have started drinking peppermin tea means i cut out the milk and with no coffee i am cutting out sugar as well. I never got off the mark this week. We ended up decorating and the house has been a riot. But definitely Monday is the start day, I have just binned what was in the fridge in terms of biscuits/chocolate. Going on a shop tomorrow going to stock up with fruit and veg.

Down in London this week staying with gf so no weigh in today as no scales down here. Had a solid week but went to the dogs last night with Nico and had a bit of a bender on the booze. Apart from that had 3 swims and generally good diet this week. Feeling lighter.

I've had a pretty decent week had no chocolate, crisps, juice or biscuits. Dinner last night was pretty meh. Had burgers, chips and egg. But not really an issue I don't think if I cut out all the shit and do more exercise. I have done a good bit more walking and put 2 good sessions in on the punchbag. Drinking more water than normal, cut out the mil a good bit by not having as much in cereal in the morning and then cutting out the pint i have with dinner.
Going to gve the GI diet a bash, when I say diet - I am going to try and use that is the basis of a steady eating plan. With the long weeken coming up, and things calming down at work it should give me an opportunity to make some meals for next week so I am prepared. Thats the biggest battle for me.

See you all back here at the end of June, when I'll have to start again.
