I went into a Hills in Harr0gate last year...while the wife scoffed in Betty's.
50/1 is a terrible price without the under 21 clause.
With the clause, they should have worn masks when they took the bet.
IMO If you good enough in the women's game you can be playing for national team a much earlier age than the mens equivalent. The pool of dedicated good women players is tiny It helps my wife used to play with the current England/GB manager and knows here and many of the current top coaches for the top teams. 50/1 is tight but its only for fun. If I have asked for more and upped the bet I am sure they would have checked some of our backgrounds and reduced it to 20/1.
I understand this, but there are approx 50 million people in this country, and in the 4 year period your nipper will have to play for England probably 5 million women eligible.
To put it in perspective, which do you think is more likely, your girl to play for England before she's 21 or QPR to beat West Ham 4-0 on Monday night?
Because they are the same price.
And each is almost twice as likely as Spurs winning the premier league this season.
I'll say it before Karabiner/Tikay reads this thread

What price betting a 7 month boy unable to walk, crawl or show any signs of sporting ability etc, with no sporting background in family- to win a major in golf? Or to play in Ryder cup?

I would want 100,000/1 at least

So youre gonna devote serious time to making this happen? Ie coaching and pushing the child at golf. Personally i think you are better off choosing a different achievement in a different sport. Making the ryder cup team for most young men who take up golf seriously just doesnt happen. I played golf at a very good level for 18 years and was nowhere near. I knew 1000s of lads all across the country who were in my age range and only the 2 absolute best have made it and they were literally bred to do it with nothing else in their lives from the age of 12....but they also had incredible natural talent and good fortune to be picked for scholarships and elite programmes from the age of 14-18
100,000/1 is probably not even close.
Why not play badminton for GB in 2036 olympics, reckon you would get same price and that IMO would be more achievable

Ian Poulter wasn't particularly gifted and had his first assistant pro job when he had a six handicap! He was financially backed which allowed him to turn Pro when he was 20 and he didn't get an European tour card until he was 23.
If your kid wants it and you've got the money then Golf or Tennis is your best bet. Any team sport and I guess the other kids will resent him if he's picked because his Dad is funding the squad.

And I've never seen a tour pro shank as many times as Poulter.
