He's not levellling

In the nicest possible way he's an ego-driven narcissist.

Not that all of us don't have character faults much worse than that!
hmmm ego-driven narcissists hey?

How well did you take being told that your fancy words were not in Tal's dictionary Smiley

I wish John well and hope he crushes but the fun for me is his complete honesty with everything. He is a bright guy struggling to kill live donks and micro stakes. You just have to admire his balls to post stuff that he is gonna get ripped apart for.

Marky I find that too many people take themselves too seriously and would get the hump if they thought their advice was being ignored and I was slagging them. I imagine John sat at the table shooting daggers at these guys winning his dollars.

I'm convinced John knows playing jack2 n queen2 suited is terrible. He also understands that the nut flush draw on a paired board is not actually drawing to the nuts either. On AAK I don't think I'm ever folding 22 against John

Just lost a chunky one vs the double barell floater..

AA vs 84o on 845

where he ckr, cc, donk/ call.

Its going to get abuse im sure but fuck it. I've played with him a lot in the last two weeks and been right about his hands every time.

He has overpairs to the flop most of the time here.. Even 8x.

Will put me on AK too much and actually I know the river is thin, but I know him.  Its good.
first pot bigger than £50 he's won from me, sucks a bit but watev.

Runout was

845r 3cc Jo

I have literally no idea why you think he will put you on AK in this hand

Where did he ever double barrel float you?

A point I think is worth considering John is this.

By the book, the AA river spot is probably a fold given the action vs a random a live 200nl. Perhaps a call or sigh/call vs someone who's shown tendencies to overplay one pair hands / slowplay 99-KK pre.

I think to make the transition from fold/sigh call ->>>> raise for value - you need an extremely good reason - or more like several strong reasons. And by strong, I mean he has the faceup throughout the hand or something like that. I know you say you 'know' it was good. But what I'm trying to say is this (honeybadger puts this very well). Use your reads to deviate from "the book" only for close decisions. Eg. Imo. this spot is on the border between fold and call (more fold though) so use your read that you mentioned to deviate from fold to call - no problem. But don't jump two bridges at once.

Another point I think is important is that just because somebody sighcalls, doesn't mean they're necessarily ever folding. I think you use people's sighs/tanks to justify the play after (eg in the Q2 hand "he sighcalled AJ so he'll defo fold worse Ax sometimes).

Sometimes people are always calling, they just sigh for a bit at the situation / arent loving life.

they do this to say "thought so" if they are shown better. Human nature.

I think they'd be entitled to be a bit pissed though if that were the case, as it goes only half of it is. I think most of them see it as a challenge to stop him trying to play like Durrrr on meth 100% of the time Grin

John is obv a hero, but fk I'd be tilted if I was one giving the advice...

As for the Q2, I've made misreads/steps such as that, I was often on the backend of 3 day Ungarathons though  Tongue

This.  Takes a lot to change your inner self.

I am, have and continue to improve.  I do listen to the advice given and I know im phenominally lucky to have the people I do talking to me.
Just hard to completely implement it sometimes, and I misapply bits plenty..

Just lost a big one vs a guy who obv fancies himself..

He small 3bt 99 pre and I peel IP deep with .

FLOP
634hh

He cbets 50 into 65 and I ship it in.

He sigh snaps 99... And holds.

Meh.

Probably played this hand terribly, esp with the read that the £50 was 'weak' in some form.

btw im really big on live sizings etc, 50 -> 65 generally is pretty big, live guys usually bet lke 1/2 pot as standard or close to pot if they are b/calling.

Obviously not folding a flush draw (how deep are we though? calling could be better) but just something to think about in future (over 3/4 = strong dont bluff)
