finally emerged from my pit... post midday and headsore only to remember the fun and frustration of having a date where you both only speak a handful of the others language..

made for some fun interpretations and amazing charades!

google translate was a godsend, but it might have been something to do with the countless mojito's we had when out that made it easier to relax and not really care about understanding every word.

she's absolutely stunning, its ridiculous.  And runs around all day at work in 3 inch heels, suit trousers, jacket and midback length long black hair.... what more could you ask for!?

going to do something on monday as she's gone to visit family this weekend, but some more nights out are on the way...

Had to have a maintenance guy come to the suite to fix the handle in the shower as I almost went head over heels yesterday when I leant on it.  He spent a while in there and as someone who's had to fix some awkward shapes to crappy walls in the past I completely understood when he came to get me, showed me it is better, but that because the wall is made out of flypaper and hopes and dreams, there is little more he can do.

Meh.

Going to get a monster grind on this afternoon, think ill have another hour or two of waking up and reviving... before I SMASH UP FRIDAY FUNDAY!

we're going to attempt the following:
- no single bluff for more than 50bb's
- be more cautious with mid strenght hands, try not to valuecut
- win more than 10bi's and make a run toward 50nl next week (obv winning targets is silly, but its a friday so very doable)
- play 3 sessions of 2 hours AT LEAST!
- have a dinner break with salmon and veg
- keep cold 4betting to a minimum

that'll do to start...

Not at all, we're all big boys and we travel around the world..... anyone who travels and hasn't had an accident hasn't gone far enough!

Obviously you do the best you can to avoid them.. but its just plain foolish to think you'd be immune and the lasting damage + uncomfortable feeling of being 'blocked' with immodium is something I'd not wish on anyone.

At one point on a trip to Islamabad I think 6 of the 7 team members had an accident at work... and the food was guaranteed good as it was the Embassy compound.  It's just 'one of those things'.

I did 4 years in the mob, so saw an abundance of pitswamping and a few grandslams too... Can't say I've ever noticed anything that uncomfortable about Imodium, but then I guess it's noticeable when you don't have other stuff going on Cheesy

(Not disputing it's no good obv)

Sounds like the date went well though and living the dream at work. Definitely on a much better coup than I was as a CT anyway and I can't say I'd have swapped the Navy for Poker*

*Obviously would have done intitially, then I would have realised what a touch my job actually was Cheesy

Good luck today/tonight m8!

the guy that keeps on giving... (you are a guy, right?)

yeah... first session was absolutely horrid, went low, very low and rescued it but still lost over 6bi's and ran bad for 4bi's which sucks megaballs!

Some of the 'fun' included
- bet/shoving 10's on 9xx vs J9 bvb.  River J.
- bet/raise, shove turn 53 on 346 7 turns out there was a flopped fd and the on the turn.. i didn't notice tbh, and 89dd got me in dead.... nice hand.
- overplayed KQ on Qxx vs AA's for a bi
- had so many KK and AA where I got action pre, i 4bt almost every time... however they folded.  Then the one or two times I raise/4bt AQ or KQ I get insta-eyeballed!
#theyalwaysknow
#theyjusthaveit

I definitely made a few small mistakes but didnt bluff anything big, gave up on AQ in a 4bpt after KJx and i got called.. Sad

biggest lost was AQ vs A9 in a 4bp where he raise/ 4bts.. I call as we're 200bb deep and I know he's a canadian reg on 4 tables.  I'm 95% sure he's messing around and was going to be valuing my A high a lot, but expecting him to bomb the cards we hit too.

Flop is 963r and he tank checks back.. (thought this would be him at best having 10's but expect to see J10ss/ A3cc/ even 45hh (for a draw) most of the time)

Turn is a 6 and I lead, setting up stacks so if there is a favorable river I could feasibly get stacks in

River A and we 'snap shove' to try and look as bluffy as possible, its just over pot, but he tank tank tank calls off with A9o.

WOW! eugh.

sigh.

But managed to get back in the game with AA vs KK aipf
KQhh vs 10's on 10xxxhhh when he checks back flop as PF3btR and i lead, check/shove Ko river for 450bb's

so we're currently down a bit, but didn't quit because I genuinely felt absolutely fine, tightened up on the 'looser' preflop stuff I've been getting away with recently when feeling and playing good, took me back to the strong solid fundamentals preflop and made the last hour really easy to win money.

Definitely going to carry on this evening and look forward to booking a win, the graph from today will be epic.

mini tilting after my pc locked up when I had 99 on Q9xcc Ass vs a fish with $200 @ 25nl! the guy got lucky on me earlier for 100bb's.. and he check call flop lead turn!!!

probably just had an A...

think laptop locked up because of the HEM and youtube playing at same time...

and since I can't get HEM to work quick enough for zoom, that is stopped and youtube continues to sooth with disney tunes!

As gross as this is, and knowing the likely fallout...

the main thing that has kept my going with this thread is its somewhere to vent.  And I've been 99.99999% honest (think there was a hh one time i didnt want to report - id obviously had enough JB bashing that day)

So I need to say today has been my biggest losing day, by a LONG way.

I'm not checking HEM and stars right now but I believe it will be somewhere between $250-350 which is clearly a joke.  But I just couldn't pull myself away from the 25nl Friday games to play 10nl instead.

It might be my imagination but 25nl does seem a little spewier and splashier and if i was going to keep playing and get out of the hole as I have done many times, it wasn't going to happen at 10nl.

I am happy with about 85% of my play that I can remember right now, but I am a little tired so will need to properly review it.

I remember a couple of misclicks in the total session, this was again due to the 3button mouse and everything being on it, but it makes the rest of session so much easier it has to be worth it.  I've massively reduced misclick folds by having a 'gap' inbetween the tables in the middle of the screen and i 'rest' there inbetween decisions this means when i accidentally right click (fold) i do it in the middle and not on the tables.

I am fairly sure from memory I've run somewhere between 4-8bi's under EV which is just a bit meh... lost a few big all ins, a couple of flips and a lot of 30-50bb preflop ones... (things like 99 to a CO open from shorty... not folding clearly and with a lot of SS's shoving big cards and all pairs it makes sense to me to get it in pre)

I'm very tired and eyes are a little burny but I've played solid from the last post, which i think is around 6 hours straight (with small breaks obv) but that means i mustve cleared about 9k hands today.

Sucks to lose over such a sample... on the bright side i got another stars 'reward' and im halfway to my first $50 already.... at this rate will need it.

Can't wait for pads to wake up

Really want to see you and Belton win the world but those sort of diaries get a bit same same. As long as you and Sean are happy, financially secure and smiling at life, I personally would like you both to carry on playing/posting. Smiley

On the slight bright side, the massive majority of all hands lost were hands as far as I can remember where we had good hand.

really dont want to go back down.

Hard to win online sometimes.

I've always been amazed at your honesty throughout, as well as your constant will to improve, regardless of how poorly hands have been played in the past. You've always shown the desire to continually learn from all mistakes.

Keep battling and get out the hole please, it will come Smiley

Thanks mate, I know that many people in poker are less than 100% honest.  Unfortunately ive seen and experienced this myself, its a shame but its the nature of a beast where positives are rewarded and negatives are completely condemmed.

I'll get to the poker stuff later, for now, I've just come back from work early having spent half of my day on the toilet and feeling shocking.  I can't keep hydrated and as a result feel shocking.  It didn't help that i had KFC for lunch but I just couldn't be arsed going anywhere other than across the road.

shower, sleep and salmon!

Then ill work out how many mistakes I made yesterday and how many theoretical $$ pleno and i can chalk up.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question for stakers and stakees alike -

I don't want to go back to 10nl, I've beat it over a massive sample, and I was beating 25nl.

What would be the argument/ discussion for justifying I stay at 25nl and therefore need a bigger 'top up' than before?

Willing to put my own $$ up to help 'match it' since its my preference to stay up.

Huh?

ideas?

pleno? (pm or skype if you want)
