a quick reprise of steeler-bengals

the Bengals are 16-15 up with minutes to go

roethlisberger has been knocked out of the game with a damaged shoulder

backup QB landry jones is intercepted

next possession, jeremy hill fumbles

the steelers get the ball back on their own 9 yard line, 1.23 remaining

roethlisberger comes back in. he can barely throw

the bengals go into prevent defense, trying to stop the big plays. why i don't know

roethlisberger dinks and dunks them to the 40 yard line

they face 4th and 3. this is the ball game

he throws towards the brilliant antonio brown, but the ball sails high.

bengals linebacker hits brown, helmet to helmet. draws a 15 yard penalty to keep the drive alive

in a melee following this terrible hit, the bengals lunatic db pacman jones is flagged too. another 15 yards

he goes on an epic rant to the referees, and then on instagram after the game

so the steelers, get thirty yards further up the field

they kick the winning field goal to win 18-16 and go to denver next week

bnengals coach now 0-7 in play off games and 2-13 in games v the steelers

this doesn't do justice to the drama!

Haven't been able to sleep yet still in shock.Think the non call on the Bernard helmet to helmet rattled the Bengals and started the meltdown. Not sure what's what's worse supporting the Bengals or Luton at the moment.Think Lewis has to go now unfortunately.

not many would have seen it but there was a great RU game yesterday

Leicester-Northampton

leicester went 21-0 up, northampton came back and leicester won 30-27 with a last minute penalty

during the game leicester were awarded a penalty and the player-referee exchange went as follows

Ben Youngs (leicester and england scrum half, brother tom youngs is the leicester and england hooker)) "can I go quick sir?"

Barnes (international referee)

"no Ben your brother's having a fight"

also notable for the return of....

Wimbledon fan...thoughts on Jake Reeves? Apparently he is on the Poshie radar.

Tottingham fans...David Pleat raving about Chris Forrester, will be another Dele Alli, but you can't have him till the summer ta.

Also, what did Mark Lawrenson just call Steven Pienaar?

We (Brentford) released him a couple of years back. Not good enough for league 1. Very average midfielder who is neat and tidy but not incisive enough going forward and not strong enough or disciplined enough defending.

Okies, ta. We really don't need a midfielder tbf, any of our current crop would walk into most Champo clubs. He's only 22, though, and sounds like he's found a burst of improvement.

Serie A is back up and running after the winter break. Roma have an annoying inability to turn draws into wins or hold onto leads. A 3-3 draw at Chievo on Wednesday (including throwing away a 2 goal lead and conceding an 85th min equaliser) was followed by a 1-1 with AC Milan yesterday (again being 1 up)

Relying on favours, but the Juventus juggernaut might be difficult to stop....

Strangely, last night, I was laid a bet on the first touchdown in the Chiefs game after the toss at the same price as before the toss.

Clearly, knowing which team starts with the ball is rather an advantage. Just have to stop the team from immediately returning the kick off for a touchdown...
