How does anyone put a decent bet on a horse without getting restricted?

Serious question. Just trying to put a simple £50 e/w bet and getting restricted to silly amounts.

Welcome to the 2004 club in 2016!  Where have you been for 12 years!  Doing your cash?Huh?  Bar that you will always get a decent bet on the exchange close to the off but you will rarely have any value (esp not ew)

I don't bet very often on horses, I'm a typical mug punter so learnt a long time ago to give it up Smiley

Who restrcited you out of interest?  What price were you trying to get £50 ew on?

Boyle Poker restricted me to £8 e/w 12/1
Laddies £25 e/w 12/1
BetVictor £25 e/w 12/1

You know whats really frustrating putting £100 in to an account for a bet and having to draw it back out again waiting 3 days for the pleasure

If you withdraw before 11pm all those three bookies are back on a debit card the next day.

Open a PayPal account, withdraws instantly (says 2 hrs but never been that long), also if you keep a balance in PayPal then the bookies sites never show on your bank statement. Win Win.

Although I notice Betfair charge for deposits but I think they are the only one.

Boyle return just came in this morning the other 2 haven't yet. These were requested around 8:30 pm btw

Definitely had withdrawals that take longer than that sonour.

From those three bookies, to a debit card ?

Absolutely, barclays if it matters.

Ladbrokes takes days for me on both my accounts.

Nailed it. Even better brag if any of the above were actually bookmakers.

Coral have some interesting season-long cricket markets priced up. They have batsman groups of 6 and bowler groups of 4 for each county.

Couple of prices stand out in the bowling groups (wickets taken) :

Hogan at 5/4 against Wagg, Meschede and Salter
Magoffin at 5/4 against Shahzad, Robinson and Briggs

Hogan last season took 48 wickets in 14 games (missed 2 on paternity leave). That's a pretty average return but still beat Wagg (45 in 16), Meschede (40 in 16 games) and Salter (25 in 12). Hogan has spent the winter playing for his Australian state side (W.A) and is 4th top wicket taker in Sheffield shield cricket (37 in 9 games), so he comes into the season in good form. Wagg's been around for years, he isn't likely to suddenly improve. Meschede is a decent cricketer, but more an all-rounder and useful in limited overs. Salter is a young spinner who averages less than 2 wickets a game, he's unlikely to challenge.

Magoffin is favourite to be the top wicket taker in the league. He took 69 wickets in Div 1 last year, and should be just as prolific in Div 2 this year. Briggs only played 8 county championship games last year and may get more cricket this year after his move to Sussex from Hampshire , but he only managed 19 wickets and Magoffin should be clear of him by mid-summer. Robinson got 46 in 11 games, but has had disciplinary issues in the past and isn't guaranteed of a spot in the side. Shahzad took 22 in 5 games, but is injury prone hence why he only played 5 games. Magoffin is knocking on a bit (36 years old now) but has just signed a new 2-year deal so must feel he has plenty of cricket left in him.

I would say only injuries would stop these from copping, but both of my picks aren't spring chickens. Magoffin didn't play any List "A" cricket last year, and it may be that these 2 are saved for red-ball cricket this year, which would be an advantage.

is it worth the risk tying up the money for 5 months at 4/1 the double?

Quick update. early day with this one, and bad weather has impacted a fair bit on the amount of gametime Sussex have got. At the minute things are going ok. Think we have 20 on the double?

Currently for Glamorgan the wickets tally are: Hogan 20, Wagg 12, Meschede 8 and Salter 3.

Currently for Sussex the wickets tally are: Macgoffin 11, Robinson 7, Shahzad 6 and Briggs 3.

Right, after some bonkers sessions so far in Monaco, here are my pre-Saturday bet suggestions:

Pole Position: Daniel Ricciardo @ 23/10 with exchange (9/4 with others is okay too) - suggest £10. Red Bull's FP2 pace was extremely impressive, and I'm not convinced Mercedes have an answer here. It depends on the changes they make before qualifying. Also Max Verstappen @ 66/5 with the exchange (12/1 with others is fine) - suggest £5. If Red Bull are quick, Verstappen will be too. Price is too good to turn down.

Race Winner: Daniel Ricciardo @ 5/2 with many (suggest £10) and Max Verstappen @ 73/5 with the exchange (11/1 with others is fine too, suggest £5). Same reasons as above.

Top Six Finish: Sergio Perez @ 7/2 with the exchange (5/2 with others is okay too) - suggest £10. Force India should be quick this weekend based on upgrades, and the way practice has gone in Monaco so far. Price too high, take advantage.

Points Finish: Romain Grosjean @ 7/5 (Bwin, above EVS fine), Esteban Gutierrez @ 10/3 (various) and Jolyon Palmer @ 8/1 (various). Suggest £10 on each. So far this season we have seen that the Haas cars have the best traction of ANY team on the grid. If they get into high position due to some chaos on track, they will keep it. As for Palmer, that price is just a little mad when his team mate is priced at 3/1 ..

Not To Finish The Race: Lewis Hamilton @ 9/2 with various. Suggest £10. He's under pressure here, if things aren't going his way in the race, I fancy him to make an error and clatter the barriers.

Daniel Ricciardo Monaco Grand Prix Winner
5/2
Total Stake: £10.00
Potential Returns: £35.00

Max Verstappen Monaco Grand Prix Winner
11/1
Total Stake: £5.00
Potential Returns: £60.00

Daniel Ricciardo Monaco Grand Prix Pole Position
9/4
Total Stake: £10.00
Potential Returns: £32.50

Max Verstappen Monaco Grand Prix Pole Position
12/1
Total Stake: £5.00
Potential Returns: £65.00

Sergio Perez Monaco Grand Prix Top 6 Finish
5/2
Total Stake: £10.00
Potential Returns: £35.00

Hamilton to fi nish race i cannot do, bet365 only have the market up

Romain Grosjean Monaco Grand Prix Points Finish
11/8
Total Stake: £10.00
Potential Returns: £23.75

Esteban Gutierrez Monaco Grand Prix Points Finish
10/3
Total Stake: £10.00
Potential Returns: £43.30

Jolyon Palmer Monaco Grand Prix Points Finish
8/1
Total Stake: £10.00
Potential Returns: £90.00

Morning Tighty.

There is a fascinating day in the tennis today. There are a number of favourites that could struggle to win, Tsonga, Berdych, Ferrer and Bautista Agut. The bet I am going to propose though is Almagro to beat Goffin. This can only have been priced up on world rankings as Almagro is in great form, has won a clay court tournament recently and holds a 3-0 record over Goffin.

Suggest £20 Almagro @ 7/4 with Coral or Hills.

Chorals are 1/4 odds for all Channel Four races today. The 2.35 at Haydock is down to 8 runners now, after a withdrawal this morning. Long way to go until then but the ground is officially good. 6/4 Frankie/Gosden favourite unimpressive last time out. Lovely shape for some each way action.

Anyone fancy anything?

Edit: that lasted! Down to 7 now.

Replied.  Given manure are 30/1 to remain unbeaten at home the price of them going unbeaten home and away for the season is just so much bigger than the prices being quoted.  Just imagine they play a second set of games at home rather than away.  That would make them 30/1 and 30/1 in a double to stay unbeaten over 38 games.  That is 960/1.   Then each price for the away games is going to be substantially bigger.  You are probably looking at 10000/1+ they remain unbeaten for the whole season.

Why?  The maths above all stacks up.  What is more amazing is the prices of 14/1 to go unbeaten at home and 100/1 to stay unbeaten all season home and away.  The prices imply they are more likely to go unbeaten away from home than at home!
