Beat Tighty

Can you name the Team this stadium is home to, before Tighty does?

They are a current Football League Team.

Looks like we Beat Tighty.

Easy game.

The (badly explained) idea was that the rest of the Thread has to try & get the right answer before you do.

Which should be easy, as I think I have got you this time - you have no idea what ground it is. Wink

I think we do have a Freddie who supports them, too.

Morning all. Bad day yesterday. Astracad looked first beaten yesterday, and to my eyes was down to the ground. Apologies and move on.

The interesting bit was on way home where we stopped on at The Air Balloon(famous landmark pub in these parts)on way home. After 20 mins, in walks Paul Nicholls, Dan Skelton and a few owners.

Now in my group are several guys with no pride, who were soon invading Nicholls space, getting photos and asking for tips. Now I have never been a fan of the great man, but to be fair he answered every question, request for photo etc, and completely changed my opinion of him(at this stage my mates were ten pints plus into the day, and even I had had enough of most of them-I am 6 weeks after a transplant op, so no drinkies for me).

Anyway, asked for a horse to follow Nicholls quick as a flash said "back Ranjam in the Ladbroke next week at Ascot". Needless to say half of us scuttled outside and took some 20s and 16s. Now none of my mates are big hitters so I can only suspect Mr N visited a few pubs on the way home last night as the price has crashed and is generally 14s(10s with Laddies who I know are non runner no bet).

Not recommending as a bet to Fred, but some info from the horses mouth maybe of interest to some on here.

Must try harder

I love this thread when someone posts a winner - Snowy in the darts last night is a great example, or hector's nitty winners - & then hardened punters come on the thread & say they got on.

It's almost like a co-operative, eveyone working for each other.

And losers never get dissed.

What's not to like?

I don't yet know whether it will continue beyond February, when the 12 months are up, or maybe I will hand over the reins to someone else, but I cannot tell you the fun it has given me.

This is what Forums should be for imo - fun.

I hope very much that it doesn't stop. I am sure I speak for many others when I say its given a lot of enjoyment, as well as being a great learning exercise too

Not sure if it would be workable, but as I said to you recently I am happy to take on some of the bet-placing duties if its a question of time and workload for you

I actually am not sure what the ground is. Which is intensely frustrating and not at all pleasant for a Sunday morning

It's back to nitsville city Arizona today Mr T.

Saracens v Munster. Saracens as we know by now are a solid team who do not score many tries against good teams, and Munster are just that. Doing the draw and no try scorer bets wouldn't be a bad thing, neither would a drop goal happening, but I will stick with low points. Hopefully this will come in and then tomorrow we can have a special Pujara celebration when that one lands after the month long sweat.

Under 34.5 points £24 @ 5/6 Betvictor or Laddies.

Mr Milli it gladdens the heart to know that the Millidonk family will have the funds to grace that wonderful table with some figgy pudding next week.

Morning Mr T. I would like to enquire whether our horse in the 10 to follow or whatever it was has had a trundle yet ? If so how did it go and if not when might it run.

Time for some more Carte Noire and a look to see if I can find another successful max rugby bet for today, it will be my 6th in a row if it does. One of them was even for the dizzy sum of £24.

It is too early for a celebratory Anderson dance so I shall instead have a bowl of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes.

The mare is "Tarla", but I'm afraid we shall have to ask Doobs, as I have no idea, & have been wondering that myself.

Doobsy?

6 Rugby Winners in a row (excluding the "Banzai Savers")?

Yup, I've been watching that, it'd be quite somerthing to get 6 straight rugby winners, & you still keep the stakes sensible, very rarely more than £20. Incredible.

We never name the owners of losing bets in the Daily Reports here, as we like to celebrate success, not mock failure, & you are hogging the limelight right now. Could not happen to a more decent chap, & long may it last.

Here, share a congratulatory coffee with this chap.

Tarla ran a couple of days before the comp started.  It ran again on the 9th, was 4/11 had the race won when falling at the last.  It had an entry on Boxing Day when I last looked.  Voler la vedette, which was a joint short price favourite, has had a wind op.  This is good news for the thread, we just need ours to stay standing in a couple of races.

It isn't all plain sailing as last time I checked another mare had got 20 points.  I am kind of hoping that will be it for the season.  I dont think there is any sign of quevega appearing before Cheltenham.

It seems even Ladbrokes want you to get the 6 timer - the line is 35.5, not 34.5! Bonus point. Wink

I have got on early, as I fancy the entire Fred Massive will be on this.

We have £24 @ 5/6, Ladbrokes, UNDER 35.5 points, Saracens v Munster.

Good luck!

Top Man Doobsy, thanks.

If you think of it, can you remind us before it next runs please?

Thanks.

Apologies? Not needed, we don't do them here.

Must have been something to bump into DN like that. He's had a testing week, but it ended well for him.

Here is the current odds for the Ladbroke Hurdle thing.

If anyone wants to recommend Ranjan, it might well get some warmth, though I fear we have missed the value.

England close 165 ahead

One good session tomorrow and they will secure the draw to make Doobs' bet a winner - he recommended the India lay

We need Tighty's pickle theory to come into action for the top up of the England win to come into play

The pickle theory= the worse a team does on day 4-5, the greater the chance they have of winning

eg If England collapse early tomorrow, they might bowl India out. If they don't collapse, they'll bat on and can't win it

With Pujara, Doobs' match bets, Anderson in this match the thread looks like it will be in profit for the four match series.

Which is good going, considering it has progressed in quite unpredictable fashion since the first Test
