Morning Mr T.

Still no action in the fennel bed.

The CESM bet yesterday was a tad unlucky, they had the ball  in Widnes's 22 but messed up the drop goal attempt in the last minute. In tonight's game Huddersfield host St Helens. We have been opposing St Helens recently as they have had injuries and playing badly. Tonight they should have Wellens, Meli and Roby back but Huddersfield are playing well and with good weather and at home should have too much scoring power for St Helens. I thought the handicap would be 6-8  points but at the moment we can get on with just 4 points to make up.

Suggest £22 Huddersfield -4 @ 10/11 with Betvictor, Paddy or Coral.

Cheers Hector  thumbs up

I've had a nudge for new south wales +2 @ 10/11 against Queensland in the state of origin match tomorrow.

I know nothing about this game, so if anyone does. Thoughts?

taken me 24 hours to make a comeback from page 2777 after a week away....nice to see the milkman still delivering, and the bookies still robbing. I'd backed Ms Shin, couldn't remember where. Finally found it with Bald Fred who had settled it as a loser and were presumably hoping I'd stay on holiday.

You wonder why they haven't settled all of them, having realised there was an error...

The State Of Origin is a three match series which Queensland have won in each of the last seven years (albeit by 2-1 in six of those years).
I've not watched the NRL since SkySports stopped covering it but Queensland have most of the big name players and look strong again.
The games are usually very tight and brutal with scores of 18-10, 12-16 and 21-20 (Queensland first) last year.

The match is in Sydney so you would expect "The Blues" (New South Wales) to do well - they have won the Sydney game in each of the last two years.
I can't give you a definitive answer though. Smiley

Tomorrow's teams are here:

History is here:

As Australia are so dominant in Rugby League it can be argued that this is the highest level of rugby league played, even higher than international matches.

Thanks for the background info Mr Mere.

Brutal? Just a bit!

The game sounds like a coin-flip to me.

I can't see the Tab pricing this up wrong, it's one of the highlights in the Sporting year in Oz.
I was on the same plane as the Queensland team Teo years ago, Lockyer and co when they flew down to Sydney, everyone of them was huge.
A bit of a regret watching it in the Pub instead of going to it.

Daily Report

Profit on the Month £87.15

Outstanding Bets £1,066.25

No actioin at all yesterday, all quiet on the Western front, except for placing a few bets on the Champions Trophy which, I strongly suspect, is a cricket thing.

Morning Mr T.

At 11am the Lions tour begins in earnest with a game versus the Western Force. Force are currently 13th out of 15 in the super rugby but they are putting out a weakened team, only 2 of their starters began the last match in the super rugby. There is also talk that thy may try a physical approach to rough the Lions up ( I so hope they try to run at Manu Tuillagi). With a weakened team out the expectation is for a comfortable win for the Lions. When faced with a limited opposition using a physical approach the de facto tactic is to confront that using your forwards as a unit, catch and drives from lineouts and big scrumages.

With this in mind I think there might be a bit of value in Heaslip as anytime scorer now that he has discovered form after the 6 nations. I would not back him at 6/4 but anyone with skybet can get 7/4 and Coral are 15/8.

Suggest £15 Heaslip @ 15/8 with Coral.

By the way something has appeared in the fennel bed but I think it is baby weeds growing back.

Thanks hector, that all makes wense to me. Sort of. Presumably it will be televised.

The Lions have to concede around 39 on the handicap, so we can assume a Try-fest, & hopefully Mr Heaslip will be amongst them.

Fennel bed. Photo please. Incidentally, do you know what defines a "weed" as opposed to a "plant"?

We have £15 @ 15/8, Corals, Heaslip ANYTIME Try Scorer, Western Force v British Lions.

ON

Jamie Heaslip15/8Force v Lions - 05/06/2013
Stake £15.00
Estimated Return:£43.13
Total Stake: £15.00
Potential Return: £43.13

If it's going to be a dirty bruiser, should we:

a) consider sin bin markets; and
b) oppose the lions in the handicap?

When I started looking at the game I was looking for reasons to support Western Force on the handicap, but this is a really weak team they have put out and without any knowledge of bad weather, apparently our weather bod is hobnobbing at Wembley, I would avoid handicap betting.

Card market could be a better bet but not looked at it at all.

Cards Markets.

Note the first two are incorrectly described as "Tryscorers" on Oddschecker, but ARE Cards.
