no alves for barca seems a very strange move to me
I gather their Press conference got a bit heated last night, too, with Guardiola throwing a bit of a hissy fit at tough questions about recent results. Tough to assess a man's or teams character when they are winning everything, the test comes when a touch of adversity or run-bad is encountered.
What was it that Cliff Gladwin, the English bowler, said in 1948?
Just guessing, was it "Tony, you really should think of retiring at your age"?

Now now, you of ALL people should know what he said, & why. Very pertinent now, as then, too.

Did you know that Cliff Gladwin once bowled 52 overs for 55 runs in a single day, running into a wind so severe it blew the big wooden sightscreen, weighted by being on Iron wheels, down?
Don't make em like that anymore

Tonight's Thread sweats (pre-Basketball, which we can post later) are.....
Snooker - Hawkins to beat Selby.
Football - Bolton to beat Villa.
Chelsea 0-0. (Which it currently is).
Chelsea to receive the first yellow/red card tonight.

Yellow card for Chelsea, we have one bet home already.
Trouble with dubai's tips is that we barely get a sweat.
Nice one Mr S.

The 0-0 bet has gone, but it was only a tenner, so not too painful.
Terry sent off too, so look away now time is upon us.
Bolton and Hawkins, step up to the plate please.

possibly the only person watching villa park first half
observations
bolton look awful and have no shape to the play
villa actually look ok and there veteran left back is running the game in central midfield somehow
positives
villa should be at least 2-0 and it is 0-0
