@BBCTMS

England last won the first two Tests of an Ashes series in 1978/79. They went on to win the series 5-1.
6:48pm - 21 Jul 13

This was the six test Ashes because of Kerry Packer's World Series Cricket, wasn't it?

Yes, there is bbc4 documentary about Kerry Packer on at the moment.

Might...might...have watched it, enjoyed it and remembered the line in which the Aussie Cricket Board chap said they had agreement to extend it to six tests...

I try not to have my own ideas on Sundays. Smiley

Next manager to leave post.
Most people will see the three teams that were promoted struggling, that's a given. However, this is cardiffs first time in the premiership and they've missed out on signing wanyama and Tom ince up to now.
Their owner after taking over, rebranded the colours of the strip to red, perhaps showing he's open to change and it didn't appear he cared what the fans think.
I don't understand how Malky Mackay can be 33/1 with sky, 30/1 with betfair if Fred was willing to have a punt.
Would be interested to hear views of someone that knows about Cardiff?
Surely if Cardiff get off to a bad start, which is expected, the odds will plummet?

Good pick and all that but...

Is Oddsonville the stop before Thendis-Upon-Us?

I assume, as it's the Express service, it doesn't stop at Oddsonville Parkway.

Daily Report

Profit on Month £243.05

Outstanding Bets £1710.60

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&pli=1#gid=27

A profit of £18 yesterday to conclude a busy weekend

Phil Mickelson won the Open with what the veteran US Golf correspondent Dan Jenkins called "one of the great rounds in Major Golf, on one of the most baffling courses"

+1 after ten holes and 4 behind, he blitzed the back nine and came home with a 66 and finish -3.

Before Mickelson's charge we had Adam Scott in the outright lead at 25/1, but had to settle for place money in the end

Stephen Gallacher won the Top Scot market for henrik777 for our other Golf winner

Overall we lost £85 on the Open.

In the Ashes England went 2-0 up. As far as our long term bets Swann took nine wickets in the match to move joint leader in the series wicket taker lists and more dry spinning pitches to come. Clarke scored 51 to move into 3rd place in the Australian batsman market. Without too many heavy run scorers around him, and with the two ahead of him being Agar and Watson LBW Anderson, we are well placed there too

Quintana duly podiumed in Paris to produce the £47 profit on the final TdeF bets

Carney scored for Castleford for another delivery of Gold Top

Meanwhile stateside, the Tampa Bay Rays swept the Blue Jays in the first series back after the all star break to make that 20 wins out of 24 and take them to within a game of the Red Sox in the AL East

To put 20 of 24 into context, the MLB's best teams win 60% of their matches, the worst 40%. 20 out of 24 matches the Rays best ever run and we can begin to enjoy the sweat. Next, the Rays travel to Fenway to meet the Red Sox....

We have (decent sized bets too) both Boston and Tampa to win the AL East, and Tampa to win the AL and the World series

HRH The Duchess of Cambridge goes into labour.

The price of the fourth in line being a girl is...ahem...contracting...

Tampa Bay Rays are at the Red Sox for the next 4 evenings.  Guess these are the equivalent of "6 pointers".  Sure Tikay could put me right here.

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots

Next stop hopefully Fistpump-On-Sea. Not stopping at Thendis-Upon-Us or Acton Central. Did you know Acton has seven stations?

Cheesy

I knew they had been doing well due to their price shortening over the last few weeks, but I had no idea that they had been going that well.

Absolute freeroll now then and I presume it will take a miracle for anyone outside of our 2 to win?

Not quite, the Orioles are still in the Hunt and the Yankees can go on a run

Two wild card teams for the AL and ti was long assumed these woudl come from the West. A decent chance now that both might come from the East.
