Do you want a proper daily report?

A lot of positions were left unreferenced.

Yours

distinctly disappointed of Beeston, Notts

Touche Chompy!

I run out of ways to take the piss out of myself. All comers welcome!

Nice report sir.

PS, reasoning behind the Newmarket bet please. Missed it on way back from Gooders yesterday and see its 6/4 ish now.

The J Wonder @ 11/4 rec (swifter clicking required here).

Brian Meehan 2yos always improve a lot for their first run. Not many of them win on debut and those that do tend to be useful. This one holds a Group 2 and a couple of Group 1 entries.

Not many Newbury maiden winners get awarded a mark of 79. The time was very good too.

Given the chance the handicapper would probably stick her in around 90 after Amazing Maria, who finished third at Newbury, blitzed'em at Goodwood.

PS, figures added to daily report. Didn't know that was part of the gig.

Bit annoying that I missed it, but I was on the case within minutes, & it was already 2/1. I can't take 2/1 when 11/4 was available minutes earlier, it makes me grumpy.

Daily report

Profit on Month £102.25

Outstanding Bets £2,371.10

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=28

A LOSS of £8.75 yesterday, which is fine, swings & swongs are OK, the main thing is we are BLUE.

We lost £15 on RL, but made £6.25 on Doobsy's "Offer" bets.

We made a rare Super Bet, from what was erroneously described by one wag as a bottomless pit, £350 @ 2/7 Watford to finish Top Half of the SKY BET Championship. This moved our "Outstanding Bets" up to a whopping £2,371, but I'm pretty sure we could sell that at a premium.

In the Ashes, Clarke now has 116 better than Rogers, who is currently his nearest pursuer, & his average is 57.80. We have £50 on Mr Clarke. Swann leads the English bowling, 5 clear of Anderson. We are on @ 11/2.

Middlesex skittled Durham for 143, but are a disappointing 126/5 in muted reply.

Northants v Gloucs  and Lancs v Leics

Northants max bowling points, Gloucs hit 358. Bugger. Northants lost the toss, Lancs won the toss...just those small pieces of luck you need for some of these season long things to land. (Like my wording there?)

At Goodwood, in the "Top Jockey", Richard Hughes is crushing. One day to go & we are home & hosed.

Football returns this weekend, but season bets apart, we ought to keep our powder dry yet awhile. The Championship sent many a punter skinto last season, & made fools of most.

Thats all for now, out of time. Still dithering on a trip down to Brighton for their excellent £200 jobbie. 5pm start, but I'll need some kip first.

Chris Rogers

Ed Joyce of Sussex overtook him yesterday in the top captain market, having been 350 behind at the end of June when Rogers left to join the Australian Touring Party

The Ashes ends this month, and County Cricket continues until the end of September, so we need to see if Rogers would return to Middlesex at the end of the fifth Test. He wouldn't be in the Australian ODI and T20 team for September

The best remains open, but to all intents and purposes its a £40 loss

The Swann bet is top Series bowler, from BOTH sides

11/2

Top English was 7/2 but we went LAG at Sharplea's suggestion not TAG at mine

So we need to watch Siddle who is bowling now with 13 series wickets, 5 behind Swann and likely to bowl twice this match

Can't believe you'd stoop so low as to play the old "Well if you'd listened to me" card!

Siddle, you say..?

Not at all, both are good bets. Just correcting the misconception that its an English bowler only market, its not

Bookies had Pattinson as favourite for top Pom-swatter iirc. Happy with my Siddle bet. Always looks the sort who will steam in for lost causes when others go through the motions.
