think it was a rick for whatever reason

anyway i now have another tenner on a man i would not recognise if he walked into me in the street

I have absolutely NO interest in punting this Market, but I thought it may amuse & entertain you horsey, & a few others.

Prices for the next 'Boro manager are.....

It does give a hint into the depth of quality available in the Managership stakes though.

Some real comedy gold there. Wink

Surprising they didn't fire Mowbray when Mr Brolly was still on the market.

About the only place he'd be welcomed with open arms I reckon.

been welcomed very warmly at Derby

Excellent coach imo

Gumball won Best Bitch at the Inside Soap awards last night. Not sure if that means she's popular or not? That mag used to be the floor below me at IPC, reckon I coulda nobbled the outcomes if we'd had big enough bets!

I agree, but doubt he's the most popular around.

who put up terry venables at 22/1 with skybet tikay? Smiley

Sir Alex at 100/1 with Paddy Power, anyone?

A hundred to one! I assume if you asked them to quote you a price on Pope Francis, they'd give you 150/1

It says something about football fans in general that I am not even sure McClaren would be welcomed with open arms at the Riverside.  He was widely disliked before the cup run and even after that when he left nobody seemed too bothered.  There are some intriguing big prices in those markets.  O'Neil turned us down once before we appointed Southgate so I am not sure what would have changed now and he has always seemed fairly picky.  Pulis, I am told, never even moved to Stoke and lived in Dorset still so a move to the North East seems a stretch for a manager that will surely get other offers at this level.  Nigel Clough seems the most solid of the market front runners and he obviously has links to the town.  Also think Venus is too big.  Money is very tight these days there and that tends to be the default of skint clubs.  Overall though just very sad to see Mowbray go.  He never really had a chance and, for my money, remains the best man for the job in the long run.

There is a bit of a fly in our Heisman ointment.  The FSU QB Jameis Winston put up impressive numbers this week in absolutely killing #3 ranked Clemson.  He is a freshman and a dual threat QB that is averaging over 300 yards a game and just generally looking pretty good.  If FSU make a run, and they look as though they will, he is going to be a real threat to Mariota.  At this stage I think he is probably favourite because he is a freshman.  Just t make you even sicker the Texas Rangers drafted him in the 2012 baseball draft and he turned it down to go play QB at FSU!!!!

Just sparked up the laptop as I thought it must be an issue on my phone.  This is all I can see too.

Winston and Mariotta are now Evens JFs

Winston is a freshman, and would be expected to come into the NFL in just under 3 years at the end of his Junior Season

Draftniks are already referring to him as the slam dunk number one pick in the draft for whichever team finishes with the worst record then

Its a bit galling because the original recommendation was so tremendous, Mariotta basically having moved ahead of all the competition one could foresee at the time

Were Oregon to get to the BCS game and win it (over Alabama, I assume) then Mariotta should get it

Rough odds to win the BCS are

Alabama 17/10
Oregon 21/10
Ohio State 6/1
Baylor 12/1
Clemson 12/1
Florida State 12/1
LSU 14/1
Louisville 25/1

Next two weeks will be absolutely vital.  Oregon have to play #12 UCLA and then #6 Stanford whilst FSU should blow out NC State this week and then would have to beat #7 Miami in a huge game.  If both teams won both games then it is going to be very close I think and will probably be down to who looks best for who gets the BCS bid.  Oregon also have a potential banana skin with their last game of the year v Oregon State who aren't nobody's fools.  That said if it is close I think Mariotta gets it because there is generally a bias towards seniors but it is a bit annoying given we had seen off the major preseason opposition.
