Tights lay of the tournamen, Spain, are out

I'll try again.

Tighty's lay of the tournament, Spain, are out.

Don't tell me that you had Pete lumping on @ 1/8.

Notwithstanding it was a decent shout by his tightness.

He's been very busy today. The 3.45 at Ascot was very very good each way on 5 of the 8 runners.

PP were analysing handwriting on the betting slips but they did accept his bets in the end.

took some very big each way bets in the shops on that race, totally different to their online operation.

I would be interested to see the final Betfair odds on the 3.45.  I was trying to prepare dinner and had my 2 year old to entertain about then.  When I looked at Mukhadram at 11/2, and said I am not sure if it was value.  I think the Betfair odds were about 8/1 on the win and I didn't see the place.  In that case you'd be taking a big hit on the win odds that may not have been made up by the place odds.  If I was to make a guess now I'd say backing each way at 11/2 was more likely to be bad value than not  vs Betfair.  That was very different to when I looked at the 13/2 overnight.

I think it would be useful to get those Betfair numbers just so I can check if we get value in situations like this for next time.  Can anybody access these, Arbboy? Doubleup?

Edit.  I meant to add that even if it was marginally good, it may be bad to take a bet like this because it could be perceived as dirty, so we may get a black mark for a bet that was barely profitable.  The balance was probably better at 13/2.

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots

Holland got off to a good start.

Slap head Robben netting after running from the half way line.

Nowhere near as good as this one though.

Cahill scoring a scorcher to level the game.

You could get Oz at 10's on Betfair at that point.

Holland came from behind though to win a fantastic match and qualify for the next round.

Cardiff's adopted Country Chile took the lead against Spain.

It got worse for the World Champs when Aranguiz scored a second.

And their evening was summed up by this guy.

Cameroon bowed out at the group stages once again.

Song sent off just like his Uncle who was sent off twice in World Cups.

Mandzukic netted a brace.

Leaving these two beauties happy bunny's.

Later.

I suspect part of this was Hugh Taylor had put up Mukhadram, he had already had Anthem Alexander win for him and the firms may have been wary of letting this go much bigger. Probably wise as Field of Dream won for him later as well

Such BS a firm that bet in play should be held account for odds. If they weren't in play and reopened there market  then they should stand by it! I mean did they push out anyone to round the book back

Daily Report

Profit on Month £1150.95

Outstanding Bets £2956.91

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=25

A loss of £141 yesterday. At one stage it looked like it would be much worse, with 13 losers on the trot at Royal Ascot for -£370, and Garcia Lopez losing at Eastbourne  -£10 until we scrapped back with

- Graceful Grit e/w at 40-1 for £90 in the last

- Arjen Robben first goalscorer at 9/2 e/w for £133

We had two "offer" bets in Spain for the world cup, but laid off at the time to match, giving us a freeroll on free bets if Brazil or Argentina now win

£10m was matched last night on Spain below 2.0 and £200,000 matched for the group on Spain pre-tournament at evens or below

Amongst the horse losers were some hard luck stories, notably King of Eden at hamilton backed at 8-1, went off 4-1, beaten a neck in second and second in the Jersey..

In the world cup

- Vargas scoring for Chile good news for our top chile goalscorer bet (joint top) and off the mark for the top torunament goalscorer bet

- RVP and Robben joined Muller on 3 goals for the tournament. Mandzukic with 2 in the late game put himself in the hunt

the dutch performance was enough to get a visit from the royal family. QE2 no doubt hot footing it across to Sao Paulo as we speak

in tennis

- Querrey beat the second seed, it looks like it was a retirement, to reach the eastbourne quarters

in racing

- For Treve, her defeat was not helpful for the win three group ones in 2014 bet. Treve is 6/1 for the Arc

- Hughes still leads the golden whip after 2 days at royal ascot, and we now have some cover in place

in baseball

- For the first time since 1994 the Royals won their tenth game in a row (versus the Tigers their main rivals for the title), to move 1.5 games ahead in the AL Central....

- The Orioles won 2-0 and the Yankees beat the AL East leading Blue Jays 7-3 and that division is tightening right up at the top

We have two live division bets then, at 7-1 and 12-1

From memory it was 9.0-9.2 Doobs. The money for The Fugue came fairly late. Pricewise tip at 9/1, easy to back at 11.0 at 1pm and then backed from 9.0 into 7.6 in the last 20 minutes before the race. Magician was friendless and hit 11.0 I believe.
