Celtic Manor is playing very tough today.

Gary Boyd, a talented player, has had two birdies today but he's also had two TENS and is currently +19 through 14 holes!

Alex Noren seems to have decided to go home after one round and withdrawn, which makes sense as he lives in Sweden and defends his title there next week. What I did find funny was that Gary Boyd also withdrew and said it was because he had double vision, I wonder if he looked at his card and saw two tens?

Phil! Don't be so cruel!

I was lucky really, as I ALMOST did the three bets as doubles, or even dubs & a treb, but I got all nitty & just done singles eventually. Phew.

So we can still get out of it by getting two of the three bets home. Possibly.

Probably an unhelpful opinion but I was looking at backing OVER 80 goals for a sweat partly based on the fact most teams attackers look higher quality then their defenders.
Did a few calcs based on this seasons scoring too but it was so rough and kinda irrelevant it would probably make adnmdv sick

in an attempt to send Tikay skint/turn round the previous bad run, and with a nice special from paddy power, let's have a look at the NBA tonight, San Anotonio Spurs at OKC. Paddy is offering money back if the last score is a three pointer, no idea how often that happens really, but it does, so provides a little value. It's up to £100 on the match betting....San Antonio have won 20 straight games yet are still 3/2 underdogs tonight, pretty surprising. They're 2-0 up in this best of seven conference final, and OKC really need to win tonight to have any chance in the series. This is their first home game of the series but against a team on a 20-game winning streak? Can't believe they're odds against tbh.

Having read a couple of previews, OKC managed to get pretty close to a big comeback in game two after getting physical, lots of hard fouls, some deliberate fouls on San An's big men, so there may be a little value in backing Tim Duncan, Spurs' best big man, to score over 16 points at 4/5, he's averaging nearly 20 over the past six games anyway and these hacking tactics may send him to the line for a lot of cheap points.

If you fancy a banzai, how about the 35/1 double results bet, tie at half-time and San An to win the game. Stranger things have happened. All prices quoted from Paddy as that's the site I had open, but the money back is only on the match result (first bet) the way I read it.

Not at all offended if u decide to cut stakes or tactically decline the NBA offerings until your experts have proved their worth a bit more, just throwing it out there for discussion, perusal, cogitation and general bimbling

Thanks Jeff. Am in the studio for a few hours, will have a gander when I am done, if it's not too late. Think I'll swerve the double though, a single would do very nicely right now, never mind a double!

Thanks.

Probably of more interest to spread betting types - John Isner is 11-11 in the fifth set against Paul-Henri Mathieu.

Not a double as such, I know u don't like acca's, tho I guess u could look at double result betting that way. Just who is ahead at ht and who is ahead at ft. I really like doing those bets in games between two tight, well-matched rugby union teams, quite often can be 9-9, 12-12 at ht etc as they exchange pennos, then one team pulls away as they tire. SA and OKC are pretty closely matched, SA better but they're away

Mathieu won 18-16.
Pretty brief really.

Both those courses were pretty brutal in spots today. That's two  years running they have made a right mess of Celtic Manor, I know the wind was stronger than expected but those green speeds and pin possies were mad.

It's interesting how nobody dare say a word about Jack Nicklaus' course this week yet Wentworth gets stick every year and they are very similar really.

No discussion Jeff, a prompt perusal, a cautious cogitate, a brief bimble, & we are going to just do the single (with that money back thing) & see if we can upset the odds.

£50 @ 8/5 (money back if last score is a 3 pointer) with Paddy Power.

Hector thinks UNDER 75, Jode thinks 80+ (goals in Euro12), do we have any more views on that? Think a "stats" expert is needed.

How many games are there? Part of me thinks goals might flow freely, don't know why.

No rush, we have a few days yet, but I like the "type" of bet, lasts all, or most of the Tourney. Shame if we can't find the right angle.

You don't need Stato for that one, jkust some trading skullduggery.....

Talk them both into a friendly bet at Evs and take the 5 goal middle.  Bit dirty, but meh, the fund could use it...

Spread betting firms seem to have settled on around 74 goals.
Seeing as they tend to inflate the totals due to people's natural inclination to "buy", I'd say that you should be looking at less than 74 as realistic.

There are 31 games.

In 2008, 77 goals were scored in 31 games.
In 2004, 77 goals were scored in 31 games.
In 2000, 85 goals were scored in 31 games.
