Just floating an idea....what about a +1/+2 system?
Each bet suggested needs 1 or 2 people to agree for it to be put on. Obv means you may miss some last minute stuff but sometimes you are quick to put a bet on and the original tip hasn't had any feedback. Also think it makes it easier for others to disagree with bets. Sometimes feels harsh saying "horrible bet mate" but staying silent is much easier.

Loads of times I've seen a bet that is already on and turned to Rich and Jones and asked "why on earth have they backed that?" and they nod in agreement. Far be it from me to suggest I am a betting oracle but I'm sure others have felt the same way.

Just no point pointing it out after the bet is on and don't want to upset the poster who suggest it.
