I know the event hasn't taken place yet.....but I wondered on stats alone the Spanish Grand Prix has been won by the Pole Position 10 of the last 11 years, I believe. Surely worth a small investment on Rosberg at circa 8-1?
I know f all about F1, but seems a compelling stat.
I quite like this. The received wisdom is that his tyres will degrade at a pace making him unable to maintain his position but this is Barcelona and not Bahrain and I would be amazed if Mercedes havent made any progress on this. Also Rosberg is a bit easier on the tyres than Hamilton. Also would have to think with Hamilton, Vettel and Alonso behind him on the grid the bookies will be keen to get him in the book. I think he is worth a very modest wager.
only negative to this is Hamilton is not only better, but also TEam no1. Zero chance rosberg is allowed to win if Hamilton is anything like close
this is not true
Brawn will keep Rosberg ahead of Hamilton if they are ever 1-2 at this stage of the season (different if one can win champ, other can't)
He said it over the mike when it happened the other way round three races ago (when running 3rd and 4th and the faster Mercedes were behind)

I worry about his race ability compared to those right behind him. Last year's race was the slightly mad one where Pastor Maldonado had a rocket under his car in Q3, the red bulls seemed to choose the wrong tyres for the race and Alonso probably should have won it in a poor Ferrari.
It's a tyre management course (although I confess I'm still trying to work out how this year's tyres compare for a circuit like this to last year) with more stops than most.
That said, pole at 8-1 is mouth-watering in a course where the lead doesn't change often.

the one I am waiting for is Monaco
Mercedes use their one lap pace to qualify on pole. Good luck people trying to overtake two Mercedes even if their tyre degradation is a big disadvantage....
Had Hamilton for pole here
Have taken the 150s e/w Di Resta here.

Yeah but so much can go wrong for Hamilton. He wears the tyres more so might not be in a position to win but he is also a lot more vunerable in the run up into the first turn too. I think team orders are a lot more important with more consistent driver but obviously it is a factor as can be seen by their relative prices. I kinda like Rosberg in a matchbet between the two.

for clarity - i dont want to put anyone off the bet, im just highlighting what I see to be a risk with an outright win bet for rosberg, take it for what you will.

FWIW Mercedes were running longer than everyone in practice. I assume they were trying to get their race set up right. I haven't backed either for the race yet.
Edit took Rosberg at
. Couldn't get odds checker to work on mobile. Hope it was best

Dont really get how Rosberg is a bigger price now than at the start of the race.

Extra ice cream points for taking a bad price. Race performance so bad, should learn.
