At school I'd either run a book to around 120% or rake a random winning pool to the max, ie 80 kids put £1 for a random total points draw on the rugby game, id take out the 20 most likely numbers and if I didn't scoop pay out £47 to the winner as no one ever knew how many numbers had been sold, so if pay £47 to make it look exact

Went to a catholic school so every year special mass for the school patron saint- used to do a spread on length of mass, one year I got filled in with buyers which is no surprise as everyone loved going long on 75 mins, but was worried as way over exposed and noone was getting paid if it went more than 3 minutes over. The head boy is one who chooses readings, prayers and does a 5 min speech himself. Give him £10 to keep it all short. Think the first reading was less than 30 seconds long; all wrapped up in 58 minutes, quickest in history

My mate was a good runner, a bit one paced but stayed all day long just never had the finishing burst to win the cross country, used to finish 3rd most years. The kid who always won fancied himself as a bit of a punter and used to offer my friend massive odds to beat him, in the end I said book it and il take the action and we'll find a way to sort it. We ended up paying another decent runner to go off at a crazy pace knowing the yearly winner would always go with him as he always used to run from the front, my mate would stay at a steady pace and pick them off slowly knowing they would go off way too fast. Caught them in last couple of hundred metres.

Plenty of tales where it went wrong tho

We've got time, Dubai. Tikay will be watching the 8 year old boy naming all the lines and stations in colourless sections of the Underground map.

One of my lifelong dreams was to appear on you bet. Could never decide what I would do though. Toss up between identifying British birds from sections of their wings to hitting golf balls through truck tyres from 100 yards. They should dig up matthew kelly and bring that TV gold back!

I learned to haggle well with football stickers.

Managed to convince someone to give me the bottom half of Peter Ndlovu for the five Pavel Srnceks I had spare.

Was also a mean pog player. Very useful, that.

What section of the orchestra does a pog fit in?
