Thanks Doobs, will action them shortly. I think - correct me if I am wrong - that these are "Offers", if so, I think they get owned by Fred.

Meanwhile, the cleaner lady comes tomorrow, sigh, so I need to go get the pre-cleaner clean done.  What a life.

Yes, I remember the horror that befell me when the bedder knocked my door at Uni and I hadn't left my bin outside.

She was coming in and the room was a mess.

Oh the shame!

The bedder? What that?

Seriously, I would die of shame if the house was not immaculate, and all the dirty washing hidden when the cleaner came. Then I spend all weekend trying to find where I hid everything. God help me if she ever looked in the naughty cupboard.

Bedder/bedchecker

An olde term used for underlings in society circles, people who check up on bed wetters at places of higher education/universities etc. often also expected to collect bins full of soiled Jim Jams, as part of their duties....

No.
If the offer stipulates what horse you have to back it goes to Fred.
If a choice is required for what to back, it goes to the tipster.

Ahh yes, that makes sense, thanks.

Not quite as Charterhouse as Adz suggests Cheesy

The bedder is a college room cleaner (at least in Cambridge. Edgascoigne can verify, assuming they have them in the more modern colleges...). They pop in every weekday morning, clean the room, vacuum, empty the bin, make your bed, clean the sink and then head off next door to repeat. Students can leave their bin outside their room if they do not wish to be disturbed (too busy working, say)

If you're smart, you are kind to the bedder. She might then look the other way if you happen to have guests that morning or if you have an unregistered fridge in your room.

All part of the college fees of course. Everything is designed to enable you to get on with your studies.

Moving on.

BetVictor are offering money back as a free bet if Dawn Approach wins the Derby.  As Tighty got in first with Chopin, suggest £50 for thread with BetVictor on the Derby WIN ONLY.  Put this bet down to Tighty.  It isn't exactly what he asked for as it isn't each way, but each way is bad because it is net losses that count, and if the place part wins we lose the refund.

The bet is +EV by about 25% if you use your free bet wisely.

For those not constrained by me letting Tighty get here first, Mars is closer to Betfair so is probably better value mathematically (all assuming we know nothing about the horses).  There is no harm in spreading your £50 across both these horses (Mars and Chopin).  This is what I'll be doing (£30 Chopin/£20 Mars)

If Tighty doesn't want it, I'll take it

Sorted.

Bet is owned by either Doobs or Tighty.

£50 @ 10/1, BetVictor, Chopin, The Derby Stakes. MONEY BACK AS A FREE BET IF DAWN APPROACH WINS.

ON

Epsom Downs 16:00CHOPIN (Horse Racing Outright)Odds: 10/1 Stake: 50.00Possible Return:  550.00

Finally.

BetVictor are offering money back as a free bet if an Irish horse wins the Oaks up to £25.  It has to be on the mobile app to qualify.

Given our exposure to Secret Gesture and the fact Moth is Irish, I think this is best put on my favourite slow old boat, Liber Nauticus at 4/1.

Suggest £25 Liber Nauticus to win the Oaks on the mobile app.

Sorted.

Bet owned by Doobs.

Investment placed via Mobile.

£25 @ 4/1, BetVictor, Liber Nauticus, Oaks Stakes. MONEY BACK AS A FREE BET IF AN IRISH FILLY WINS THE RACE.

Apparently, bedders in Oxford are called Scouts.

Now THAT's weird.

Daily Report

Profit on the Month £362.28

Outstanding Bets £1501.75

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=24

No action yesterday on short term bets

In the cricket Northants reduced Hants to 150-5 on another weather shortened day

Katich scored 96 for Lancs, and remains in contention in the LVCC2 batsman bet

Today, all about the Oaks

The Secret Gesture position is a big swinger for the thread

If it wins, thread wins £799.37

If it places, thread wins £215.37

If it loses, thread loses £13

Nice position to be in thanks to Chompy, the judge who belies all outward appearances in his shrewdness

Elsewhere in the race we have bet offer positions on Moth and Liber Nauticus as fall-backs

Of course for the anti-Aidan bet, we need Moth turned over. Its ok though, it won't stay. Chompy told me

So, good luck Ms Gesture. Thread expects.

Thanks Tighty, & I hope it all goes well today for you at Wem-ber-Play.

This is quite amazing.....

The Secret Gesture position is a big swinger for the thread

If it wins, thread wins £799.37

If it places, thread wins £215.37

If it loses, thread loses £13

It all seems to good to be true, & so it probably is, even more so that our worst result is a £13 loss. How much fun can we have for £13?

No idea how many regulars are on Secret Gesture (now generallly 9/4), but those that are on mostly got on at 25/1, so what a thing if it wins. Whether it wins or not, big congrats for the tip, well done Adzy.

It is also a big evening for us, with the Greyhound Derby hotting up nicely, & televised heats (Rounds 1 & 2?) this evening, Channel 212 I think.

Hopefully, Scotty will give us an update of our positions, & what we have running tonight. We have 4 or 5 huge-priced bets, I believe.

Talking of "Offers" as we were last evening, & I think this may have been mentioned previously, but Wm Hill are doing that "Money back if 2nd to the Jolly on all Televised Channel 4 Races at the Epsom Derby Meeting" thing.

The Oaks is the highlight of Friday’s Channel 4 racing coverage but this is not the only qualifying race for our Exclusive Mobile Offer. Place a bet on any Channel 4 race on either Friday or Saturday and, if your horse comes second, we will give you your money back as a free bet. Terms apply
