Winner.

737-400 to be precise. Coinciding momentarily with the Fred view count.

My dad used to fly those.
He initially trained in the Irish Air Corps on one of these, which he now owns;

Then joined Aer Lingus. Then he went off around the world working for different airlines. He claims he worked for Air America.
Not American Airlines mind you, Air America. Or in other words, the CIA!
Flying covert operations in Central America. He doesn't have any pay stubs or documentation to prove it, it was all paid in envelopes of cash.
That's what he says anyway.

That is a great story!

Well possibly it is just that, a story.
But being an airline pilot in the 1970s was like being a rock star and my dad was a wild one when he was younger.
Not many people flew back then, it was the preserve of the elite so he met all sorts of famous people who all wanted to come up to the cockpit to see the 'magic'. Airline staff all got put up at the very best hotels when they flew transatlantic, all sorts of perks.

Lovely stuff, thank you.

As I said, I've rather gone to town on these, even staked them according to strength (NB, Nap etc).

Think we'd be genuinely unlucky to do the lot, especially with DNB, & this might just give us a wonderful evening's fun at minimal risk, & a decent return. Or we could do the lot......

Which is my way of saying we have lumped £256 on......Wink

So, the three regular bets.

Pressel, £30 @ 4/6, DNB, BetFred.

Korda, £33 @ 8/11, DNB, BetFred.

Masson, £30 @ 23/20, DNB, Boylesport

Then the NB.....

Recari, £63 @ 21/20, DNB, Boylesport

Then the NAP.....

Icher, £100 @ 13/10, DNB, Boylesport

EDIT - I had clean forgotten the point about early concessions, & our NAP (£100) goes out last. Hopefully, DNB saves us though, assuming that eventuality arises.

EDIT EDIT - Since I typed all this guff, it has been debated.

Ciganda wins to go 3/3 this year despite playing like a hacker. Astonishing.

Nicola cortese led a team of wealthy investors, buying Southampton out of admin. Two promotions and 36m of spend this off-season, cortese has designs on the top six. Very ambitious club now

We should have backed them.
I did spot the value but too late fred was already on us going down
Keep on seeing posts regretting this Southampton bet (to go down), yet the price doesn't seem to be getting a mention....now we have one that says there's "value" in backing them. Been thinking this every time I read one of these posts....this is pretty ice creamy thinking.

If you regret backing Southampton to go down coz u don't think they will, I take it u won't be interested in pressing if I offer u 100/1 on them to get relegated? Want any at 1000/1, or is the fact u don't see it happening still make it a bad bet?

Similarly, if Ironside has spotted value in backing Southampton to make the top 6, I'm laying as much as u want at 1/100....fill your boots, value like this is hard to spot.

I didn't suggest backing Southampton to go down, but I did think it was a price I wouldn't fancy laying at 10/1. Presumably u boys who think it was a bad bet think the price on Southampton to go down should have been, what, 16/1? 20s? Now they've had the best possible start, an away win coupled with all the relegation rivals losing, what would u lay, 25s?

Incoming from Bald Fred, any idea what this is for, and why they're sending it now?

Hi Jeff,

Following a review of your account we are no longer able to offer you the concession of "best odds guaranteed" on any business conducted on your account, from Monday 19th August 2013.

We assure you that this decision has been taken after careful consideration and does not affect your ability to bet in any other way across our Sportsbook and other products.

If you have any further queries please feel free to contact us

I've had 6 bets with them this year, none of which have won or are likely to. Justin Rose to win SPOTY when he was about to win US Open at 66/1, on chance, Jack and Joe to win Big Bro at 11/1, no chance, that girly golfer Ralph had us on when she couldn't be arsed to turn up and it was voided, losers on some golfer on Euro Tour and Sissoko first goalscorer on his Newcastle debut and a loser on some bloke on Splash.

Is this a restriction, a punishment, what?

I take it that is with Hills? I have no problem with them at all about getting a bet on, perhaps it's just you are taking max value every time?

Edit - it clicked, its Betfred! Duh.
