The 7/1 won't be there much longer for GLB. Same comment the 8/1 Garswood.
The rain is definitely coming. Lethal Force doesn't want soft ground and I don't think Reckless Abandon will see it out in the conditions. Swiss Spirit doesn't want mud either, likewise Kingsgate Native.
I gather the CofC watered it today?!
Apparently the far side is better in heavy? Low draw, most of the pace in the race?
Tellwright is just comedy. Don't know how some of these guys get the job. Nick Lees at Newmarket was beyond belief sometimes and his efforts were well and truly shown up by Prosser, who's as good as there is. Chris Stickels is the one that gets me, son of the worst judge this side of Dave Smith and seems hopeless. But gets the Ascot gig.
If it's heavy, which seems odds-on...
7/2 Lord Gordon, 4 Garswood, Lethal Bizzle, 8 Bar.
Haydock used to be a high bias on heavy but there's not much in it now, they'll probably come down the middle. Although Lethal has the option of staying to the inner from stall 1, the course will have had plenty of racing by that point and it will be about finding the freshest ground. Wouldn't pay any attention to the draw here.
Sparrow, I'd say this is just a great trading spot. Get as much as you can on at 7 and 8 respectively and wait for the prices to come down as the rain falls. Then lay some back.
Thanks Chompy, I wasn't really planning to trade thinking if i got 8/1 and 7/1 about 4/1 and 7/2 shots (assuming the rain materialises) then i'd have a +ev bet, but i suppose its time to pop my bet to lay cherry - in fred we trust!

Weather forecasts say different. I'll take soft/heavy if he wants good to soft or better.

Just noticed in around 20 months, since January 2012 this thread has had over 3/4 of a million reads.
As its a betting thread, someone should organise a side bet for when the millionth read will happen!
£1 or £5 per guess..something like that.
just a thought.

The Lord Gordon Byron Thngie
The timing - for me - was nut bad, work etc, but I got a good lump on.
I began by going EW, as per the original recommend, but later, when the bet went Win Only for Trading Purposes, I went "WIN".
So, for better or worse, this is what we have, based on the tempest & storms expected, now downgraded to a light shower......
Gordon Lord Byron, Haydock Spring Cup, Saturday.
£25 EW @ 7/1, (fifth, 1,2,3) Ladbrokes
£50 EW @ 13/2 (fifth, 1,2,3) GUARANTEED PRICE Wm Hill,
£25 WIN FREE BET @ 13/2, Wm Hill
£182 WIN (asked for £300, they Restricted me to £182) @ 7/1, Boylesports.
So in total, we have....
£207 WIN @ 7/1
£75 WIN @ 13/2. (Includes a £25 Free Bet)
£25 PLACE @ 7/1
£50 PLACE @ 13/2, Guaranteed Odds.
As of now (1am Friday), GLB is around 6/1 generally with the bookies. BetFair currently go 7 the win, (so we are good there) & 7.2 Lay.
Note we have nothing on Garswood.

Hills are biggest on Garswood. If we have a free bet left, at least get that on.

£25 Free Bet @ 8/1 with Wm Hill, Garswood, Haydock Sprint Cup.
Think we definitely need a deluge at Haydock and loads of sunshine at Leopardstown. Will be pretty bad if it goes the other way.
