It really is a lottery. All eight group winners will be pretty much exactly what the ideal example of their breed should be. Just comes down to who impresses on the day.

Just when I think he cant get any stranger, he honestly believes the dogs know they are competing. Probably thinks they are out the back of the Arena chainsmoking whilst they nervously sit and wait all day, whilst the later dogs are chilling by the pool with a cocktail.

No, it's more that they have had a tiring day. They'd be there from 8 this morning, with their owners being stressed out and that translates to the dogs, as they know when their owners are feeling pressure. The Gundog winner will have had to win his class, then the breed, then the group. Now, the dog will have to give the performance of its life to win. The dogs definitely know they are showing, rather than competing. Ringcraft is completely different from how the dogs will be at home.
