Gerrard to play another competitve match for England at 5/2 looks big. Could he just dip his toe into the Euro qualifying and pull out if he doesn't fancy it then? Also, if he was to retire, to come out and say he hasn't made a decision on it yet, when asked post Uruguay match, is a little odd. Get the impression that if he was thinking about it, he would seem a lot more resigned to the fact. I think he would fancy himself for the Euro campaign, especially in the deep seated defensive midfield role to accompany Henderson. But would deffo want other views on it.

Hodgson is also calling on him not to retire too.

I would never do that bet, ever. Even if it wins, at what point does the bookie eventually pay out? It could be years.

Think we still have a Mo Farah bet in limbo from last year.

They will pay out as soon as he plays another competitve match for England surely?

In theory, that could be in 2 years time.

"Lusi Suarez who will he bite next"

Wanted to have £5 on The Queen at 1,000/1 but unfortunately they will only lay 80p max.

Well, they're offering 66/1 on Suarez to bite Joey Barton next, but 100/1 on Suarez to bite J Barton!

Now that's value xD

So what?  You are going to know if you win soon enough.  He doesn't get picked very soon the bet is going to be virtually dead.  You'll surely have a pretty good idea you have done your money before the end of the next football season, and we are discussing bets for that.  What does it matter if you don't know for certain until he absolutely retires from football.  Surely that is better than just losing in the 6.30 tonight?  Worrying signs of OCD in the thread.

Oddschecker is your friend Luther.

I'm seriously pondering a return trip to Vegas for the Main. If I did, I'd be looking to sell 30%. 5% = £300. Would anyone be interested in theory? PM me if so. Ta.

0.1 % please    ....     bank details?

Manaus games

5 teams who played games in Manaus (heat, humidity, travel distance) all lost their subsequent game, and the goals scored/conceded is 3-11 from the "manaus" sides in the subsequent game

the exception, and only side to win after a manaus game, is portugal who tonight beat a ghanaian side who needed to be paid $3m to even take the field

switzerland played last night in Manaus, and have to turn round and play Argentina on Tuesday

Obviously Argentina are short-priced favourites

but might there be mileage in something like

over 4.5 goals 11-2 vetbictor?

after all argentina just have to go from port allegre (coastal cool conditions) to sao paolo (coastal, short-ish journey), we know have goals in them and we know that the one v good team swtizerland have played, france, put five past them

We could back J Barton and lay Joey Barton. Then we scoop if he bites John Barton or Jack Barton lol
