Carlsen is in megagrind mode. Slightly better position in an endgame that looks like it should be drawn. Going to be a good test of how Anand's preparation has worked. Fascinating position...if you like that sort of thing.

It's typical Magnus Carlsen.
He came out the opening slightly worse, defended the middle game well, and is now in a situation that Peter Svidler summed up beuatifully "MAgnus likes grinding his opponents into dust in positions he can never lose".

They were clearly timewasting and it was the right call from the ref. Unlike the yellow card.

Pixie Lott is going to steal the show tonight. She has a beautiful frame (leaning back like a flower in a vase) and terrific footwork. From the training footage I've seen, she's the absolute standout. 3/1 with Hills for top score tonight.
Was hoping for 9/4 favourite, so 3/1 second favourite is lovely. £25 for a ton?
Awesome analogy.

This is more what I mean:
They're perfectly together at the hip but then her top half arches away, with her chest up and her neck extending right back. It almost looks painful. They're the world champions, by the way: Arunas Bizokas and Katusha Demidova.
I've never danced, but have been brought up learning the basics. You know, I can tell a standing spin from a fleckerl and can watch for heel leads, pointed toes, lines, hand placement, extensions and double bounce as appropriate.
Football, rugby, F1, chess, Strictly and NFL. Weekend's really are great.

21/2 on Palace winning today was value. Had a clear chance with Campbell to go 0-1 up without Man U threatening too much. Second half under more pressure, but took what look like a deflected effort from Mata to seperate the two sides. Palace really miss Cameron Jerome for his strength, pace, heading and his holding up. Despite his lack of goals, he really did make it much easier for our wingers to play and may be a reason why Puncheon is struggling so much.

Game one ends in a draw
Commentators will find reasons why this means it was good for the champ or the challenger, but the reality is it was a good game, we know Anand has done an enormous amount of opening preparation (Carlsen threw a curve ball with his opening choice and Anand made a lot of early moves much more quickly than him) and crucially, Anand wasn't able to prevent the game getting into a Carlsen-friendly endgame.
Honours even. On to tomorrow.

Morning Mr T.
The rugby " friendlies" start today and there is a bet that I like in the evening match. I find myself, yet again, at odds with the compilers as I make Scotland favourites to beat Argentina. Scotland have a new coach, and have based their team around their Glasgow players, who are doing very nicely this season. Glasgow stuffed Bath, and won away at Montpelier both of which are solid results. Add into the mix that Scotland won away at Argentina in the Summer, albeit both sides were very different, and I am having a great deal of consternation as to how anyone makes Argentina favourites. With the final factor of the weather being cold and wet then we can forget about when Scotland lost a year ago to Tonga and get on them.
Suggest £20 Scotland @ 6/5 with Coral or Ladbrokes.
Your bet has been placed with William Hill.

Yep, that's what I thought (I bet it) then saw United had 70% possession, with 17 shots to Palace's 1! I also bet QPR to win too, seems like all the big teams are vulnerable right now, except Chelski. Having said that, great spot by arbboy on the bet for them being unbeaten in the season - surely not?
