I can do the 888 if you want

The National Debt soars ever higher.

Could be the greatest grim ever, this.

PS - Thanks Mark.

Until they all come bowling in, and I'm sipping Starbies at the Nugget, on Fred Wink

You'll need to be more specific, Marky. The great Nugget has - get this - TWO Seattle-kwarrfee establishments. Some hotels in Vegas have theme parks, some have jousting competitions, some have shopping malls or zoos. The Golden Nugget has two Starbucks. Please be clear as to which one you'll be supping your wealth in, else Tikay won't know which way to turn out of the Glitter Gulch.

We don't count that one round the back, only the Fremont St one counts - my fave coffee shop in the world, so many great memories.

For breakfast, it's straight out of the elevator, and into Carson Tower shop, and Fremont at any other time of day.

RCB maybe a bit of value in the IPL late game today? 6/5 v an admittedly strong chennai side? mitchell starc back for the hosts is big, and their home form is traditionally very strong. chennai have been reliant on openers getting off to flying starts (starc should be able to combat that) and miserly bowling (gayle, kohli and abdv should be able to combat that!)

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/indian-premier-league/bangalore-v-chennai/winner

aye aye aye deep breath

Betting RCB in the IPL has been a quick way to the poor house. when i checked a week ago (in an article by ed hawkins i think) backing RCB to level stakes in the 10 years of the IPL had produced the biggest loss of any IPL team...usually backed to short prices/favouritism because they are "popular" with all the names, but never perform consistently to win games they should, on paper, win

anyway you'll know this

you'll also know that the tournament requires chennai to make the final four...backed by the bcci's main sponsors and full of the big name indian players. thats the IPLfor you

anyway, i can back RCB and we can get 13/10

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/indian-premier-league/bangalore-v-chennai/winner

just double check though please. is there anything specifically in today's game/team line ups etc that would push me over the line?

Starc would be one

according to cricinfo starc is back. maybes hold off until team is confirmed? rcb on the road are a great lay, agreed, as always priced up on reputation. they'd still be favs against say rajastan away, despite their respective starts, which would be mad, but at home i have a feeling their record would be a fair bit better. chennai will defo make top 4, thats a standard, had a good start though so look booked for that anyway. my angle is starc v mccullum with new ball, and home advantage

rcb are favourites against rajastan away, despite their respective starts, which is mad. 11//10 if we have sporting bet, evens general

Would appreciate some expert opinions on this bet that I have been discussing with my friend.

At the darts tonight, MvG and Anderson play twice vs everyone else's one game. They are usually there or thereabouts in the most 180s category on an even playing field and with double opportunities it would seem logical that one of them would win.

They are priced at 2.2 and 2.3 respectively on BS, so you can back both and get on average £2.50 profit for every £20 bet ( £10 on each).

For future reference, what am I missing?

For those on the Joe Root bet, good news, he is 50 not out, hit briskly too, in 70 balls, for his sixth consecutive test 50.

Mandatory bok - be handy for us if he could go on to a century.

Gamble landed on the whitewash in any Prem league darts game this season with betway if anyone remembers the discussion about it earlier in the year prior to the prem league starting with MVG winning 7-0 tonight.  bit of a sweat but we landed the odds if anyone managed to get the 2/1.

Gamble landed on the whitewash in any Prem league darts game this season with betway if anyone remembers the discussion about it earlier in the year prior to the prem league starting with MVG winning 7-0 tonight.  bit of a sweat but we landed the odds!

what price was that?

This was my original post back in Feb.

This looks an incredible price at first glance.  2/1 any game in the premier league all season ends 7-0.  Haven't done any maths on it at all but my gut feeling is telling me this should be odds on.  There are 80 games first to 7 over the 16 week regular season so 160 chances of a whitewash.  Let's assume in each game the price is 100/1 on average for a white wash for either player so 50/1 a whitewash in any given game.  In a flip game tonight both players are 100/1 to win 7-0 top price on oddschecker.  In blow out games with a big fav like MVG tonight MVG is 30/1 alone to win 7-0.  Overall let's assume it's 50/1 there is a whitewash in any given match.

1/50 therefore not a whitewash.  Put this (1.02) to the power of 80 gives you the price for no whitewash in the whole event (80 team 1/50 acca effectively on no white wash in all 80 games).  Which comes out at just under 4/1 no whitewash.  Making it 2/7 there is a whitewash.  Is my maths right here?

Even if we adjust each 7-0 to 200/1 from 100/1 and therefore 100/1 any whitewash coupled in any given match the 80 team acca at 1/100 comes to 6/5 so we are getting 2/1 about a 5/6 shot effectively.

For the 2/1 a whitewash to be correct the average price for a white wash in a game would have to be 400/1 per player and 200/1 per match which is too high surely?

We are getting 2/1 about a 2/7 shot?  Seems too good to be true.  My gut instantly told me it should be odds on but not this odds on. Anyone got any thoughts apart from whether betway will pay out if it wins?
