14/1 or 12/1 by the time Ant has written his opus (NAP)

No bet to be had as it isn't worth blocking the cash up for a big bet but I am baffled as to why Watford are odds on to go down and Bournemouth/Norwich are odds against.

Confirmed signings are Prodl (Werder Bremen), Capoue (Spurs), Holebas (Roma), Behrami (Hamburg).   Apart from the out of favour Capoue (who was allegedly a member of the Kaboul Cabal) all were regulars at their clubs last season.  Probably 3/4 signings still to come (Stambouli close).  Add in Deeney, Vydra, Gomes, Abdi, Angella, Ighalo and it looks promising.  Layun, Paredes established internationals who may settle better in season 2 as well.   When I look at Bournemouth activity (Distin/Atsu/Mings/King) and Norwich (Malumbu/Dorrans) it doesn't make much sense to me.

I should be used to the bookies writing off Watford by now!

Before you put that up Tighty, I was actually going to put this up, so I will start here, then have a little look at the market you put up and others a little later on today.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/charlie-austin/club-after-summer-transfer-window

Suggest £30 at 4/1 for Charlie Austin to go to Palace by the close of the summer transfer window with Betfair.

The Guaridan reported that an offer of £10m plus one/two/three of Mariappa, Bannan, Campbell or Guediora, could clinch a deal for Austin and I could see it happening as we offload players from the wage structure that are of good Championship quality but would struggle to get a look in with us.

Newcastle and West Ham seem to be the other big contenders.

I think that the way in which Palace set up would be ideal for a target man like Austin. We have two great wing flair players that put in a lot of crosses, and for the past two seasons in the prem we haven't had a regular starter in the lone role that can bang them in. When Murray was given a chance with his 9 starts, he got 6 goals and many a Palace fan thought he was past it and many still do think he is limited. Perhaps with someone of Austin's capability he could have a real good time of it with the service from Bolasie, Cabaye, Zaha, McCarthur and Puncheon. The missing link to Palace for the past two seasons perhaps. He would be our main man too, unquestionably, with Murray happy to play second fiddle.

I think there is a draw to remain in London. There would be a fear in joining Newcastle over Palace too in that they struggled last season, but that was under the guidance of what looked to be an inept manager (not just Pardew Smiley). Of course Newcastle could well sign him but they may not be looking the best of propositions right now.

West Ham would be a bigger concern but I think that is in the price.

Cabaye apparently signed on condition that were were going to be ambitious in the transfer market to make more big signings, with our chairmen saying they want to sign another 3. I would say Austin's name was mentioned here. And I wonder if Austin is looking at the Cabaye signing and thinking Palace are going for it.

I think with Remy looking to be out of reach as £15m is too lofty a valuation, this seems like a good fit, and for the price seems good value even if it loses. Palace are desperate to land a target man and of those on the market Austin is probably leading the way in terms of realistic targets and I could see Palace being relentless in pursuing him and hopefully pulling off the same moves that convinced Cabaye to come.

Sadly no good. 5th/12

Backed into 20s. Pulled too hard but stayed on well considering, and if anything I felt de Souza gave up on the place money a tad easily. I think i got there a race too early, but at that price I had to put it up.

One for the notebook.

Federer is making 76% of his first serves, & winning 85% of first serve points.

mashing murray's second serve, hitting the lines

doubt i have ever watched better tennis

murray is 74% of first serves in and getting thrashed

(there you go roger, bok placed)

Him and Frome, but especially him. I dont tend to do much Cricket watching, but his name is starting to move beyond just Cricket reports and become recognised outside his sport. Gotta help.
