that's £330

if we brick that lot, we can move forward towards August and the football season!

There's our book, in all its glory.

We might just have a sweat or two there.

Great to see Goosen start so well.

Painful and sad to watch Woods struggle so.

One last one.

Goose been playing well recently, and with Top Tens in the last 2 St Andrews Opens, the 250-1, top 6 with Tote looks nice for a small investment at monster odds.

We no do?

Just looked back, it appears to have been missed.

Plenty will have followed you in though, that's the main thing, that's what really matters.

We do have him as top South African though, at 16/1.

Good luck all of us.

Cycling update...

There is a strong 22-rider breakaway at the moment (with Rodriguez, Meintjies, Navarro and Fuglsang), but Sky are using Luke Rowe and Ian Stannard to keep the gap inside of 6 minutes. So far so good.

The breakaway group seem to be getting further ahead, can they keep that pace going?

There are some very strong riders in the breakaway, so it is possible. The Ag2r race director reckons that it'll require a 4min head start at the bottom of the Plateau de Beille for there to be a winner from the breakaway. At the moment the gap is 8m30sec. We really need BMC and Movistar to up the pace on the next climb (Port de Lers). If they don't, then Rowe, Stannard and Kennaugh will just mark time on the front, and Sky will head into the final climb with 9 riders.

sorry i don't recall seeing the first Goosen bet, which looks rather foolish now

if you don't see a recommendation confirmed (all bet slips are copied onto here) or explicitily turned down (rare) then quote the post and make sure i see it

NP. Didn't notice myself until seeing the list.

Long way to go, and come Sunday I am sure you can return the taser to its box, before you contemplate self harming. Cheesy

12 minutes for the break, i'd have said that would be enough to stay away. however, Jens Voigt on itv4 stiil thinks they'll be caught, and he knows a lot more than me, so still might have a sweat on G winning

Can't see the peloton catching this break now. Pretty poor form from Movistar and BMC for not even trying to push the pace today. Hope Sky kill them off on the Plateau de Beille.

Couple of foods firms have gone up with top goalscorer prices for the Champo.

Was hoping for a bit of 16-1 McCormack. Hey ho.

Was hoping for a bit of 16-1 McCormack. Hey ho.

coincidentally, i had to write about championship stuff this morning. East of england minds think alike

....Top Scorer last season was Ipswich Town’s Daryl Murphy with 27. Deeney (Watford, now promoted) and Rhodes (Blackburn) were joint second with 21 goals

Around 25 goals will be needed to win this market this season and the best prices on offer for the fancied players are as follows:

All prices are BetVictor (William Hill also offer this market)

Chris Martin (Derby) 8-1
Darren Bent (Derby) 8-1
Daryl Murphy (Ipswich) 8-1
Jordan Rhodes (Blackburn) 8-1
Rudy Gestede (Blackburn) 8-1
Ross McCormack (Fulham) 10-1
Benik Afobe (Wolves) 12-1
Andreas Weimann (Derby) 14-1
Adam Le Fondre (Cardiff City) 20-1

Players can be backed each way, four places at one quarter of the odds. Clearly Derby are a fancied side and have no less than three players in the top ten at the head of the betting. Murphy is coming off a 27 goal season and 8-1 looks more than fair if he comes close to repeating that performance. My idea of outright value is Ross McCormack who scored. 17 goals last season in a struggling Fulham side, and 28 the season before for Leeds. I think Fulham should improve substantially this season, and McCormack’s prospects are good.

The Relegation market is headed by Rotherham United who just stayed up last year. Of course we would expect the promoted sides to be prominent in this market too

Best prices are as follows:

Rotherham United 15/8 (Ladbrokes)
Charlton Athletic 100/30 (Betfred)
Preston North End 9/2 (BetVictor)
Birmingham City 9/2 (BetVictor)
Huddersfield Town 9/2 (888sport)
MK Dons 5/1 (Betfair)
Leeds United 6/1 (BetVictor)
Bolton Wanderers 6/1 (BetVictor)
Reading 6/1 (Bet365)
Bristol City 8/1 (Coral)

None of the three promoted sides – Bristol City, Preston and MK Dons look obvious candidates for the drop this season to me. There is also a track record of recent Premier League clubs falling another division, and off the field issues at Birmingham and Leeds account for uncertainty about their prospects and their prices.

Fulham will defo improve and Rossy Mc will be the main man this season. He was dumped out on the right quite a bit last season I think. Happy to let him run at 10-1 though.

I didn't get much right about today's stage, but I'm sure we won't be seeing Geraint Thomas at 100s again. Poor Movistar tactics led to Valverde gaining 2sec. Congrats Tongue Looks like they've settled for the team classification already.

It's an award for the most combative rider ... which can mean anything. Today it was for Kwiatkowski attacking from the breakaway. Ballsy, but ultimately unsuccessful move. Yesterday, Daniel Martin won it for bridging the gap from the peloton to the breakaway. Apparently, it's chosen by a jury of 8 cycling specialists, and there can occasionally be some controversy:
