Brisbane Hear are underdogs (6/4) hosting top of the table Sydney Thunder (4/7) this morning. Game starts in 20 mins. Heat have won the toss and will bowl first, so hopefully Thunder rack up 180+, should be another high-scoring game.

Thunder are 36/2 after 5 overs, which is not ideal. We shall see.

That assumes I am watching the right game, of course.......

124/2 after 15, & Watson is tearing the bowling apart, 5 sixes so far.

A decent total is still very possible, especially if Watson stays at the wicket.

EDIT - make that 6 sixes.

Daily report

Profit yesterday £90

Profit on the month £439.02

Outstanding Bets £3608.88

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eCEvN9MELsUxB81rHuWrfoX3zwIMPQQ205Lcjm3kbgU/edit#gid=34

+£90 Van Barneveld e/w in the PDC Darts at 40-1. This is pending conformation from the Dazzler that the e/w terms on the spreadsheet are correctly recorded

ongoing

Arsenal two points clear at the top of the premier league

though Man C went marginal league favourites yesterday

Watford nearly pulled off another great result, but two great pieces of skill by Yaya and Aguero won Man C the match

Leicester's descent to relegation begins

Rooney's charge to the golden boot begins

Sunderland more or less condemn Villa, and ruin our very attractive looking 10/1 to finish bottom bet

We have a bet on Charlton to be promoted. No, really. Yesterday was the first recorded instance of a footballing protest against Belgians.
Charlton are second bottom

Meanwhile the Leeds-Preston match bet is finely poised

Peterborough have won 10 of 17 league games under Graham Westley - posh had won just 10 of previous 28 before his arrival.

Conor Washington has now scored 12 goals in his last 13 appearances.

Adam Armstrong of Newcastle and England U19s has scored 16 league goals for Coventry City, so we may be looking at e/w places only for Washington

league one top scorers

Adam Armstrong    Coventry City    16
Bradley Dack    Gillingham    11
Patrick Madden    Scunthorpe United    11
Billy Sharp    Sheffield United    11
Leon Clarke    Bury    10
Conor Washington    Peterborough United    10

Wigan Athletic (promotion bet) are unbeaten in their last 9 away league games - their longest unbeaten away league run since Nov 2004

Chesterfield meanwhile won 7-1. Relegation form, Chesterfield haven't scored that many goals in a game since 1979. The Danny Wilson effect. Perhaps it was Mary's Prayer that did it.

Cambridge United (top seven bet) lost 4-1 at home to Wimbledon

Slow start, I was a tad worried after 6, good rebuild and the wheels came off a bit for the Heat bowling (again). Heat's batting is their strength but they've left themselves a lot to do, Thunder 2/5 shots. Despite Simmons being in bad Nick I'd like him early, he's dangerous. Lynn the main man again. Can't complain so far though

Doobs what happened to the channel 4 money back if second bets you used to always put up? It was hyou wasn't it

I stopped putting them up.  Too much bad blood on the thread did for them.   We also ran pretty bad on the free bets after they were separated.  I wouldn't want to revive them on the thread.

We still do them rarely when Hills are best.  I think we had a bet with Hills on The New One on boxing day and he picked up second, though I can't see last year's spreadsheet.

I still do them myself when I have time.

I don't blame you Doobs, I would not have continued in your spot, either.

I never understood the criticisms either. The thread is about, & is successful because of VALUE, & they generally repped value when used properly.

People don't like them? Fine, don't bet them. Lots of us don't like certain types of bets, & so we just don't do them. I have no idea how it could have caused such angst. I don't like ASDA, so I don't shop there, I don't like X-Factor, so I don't watch it. Criticising them was fine, no prob with that, but generally, we don't debate well online these days, do we? Some care is needed with the written word to avoid coming across wrongly.

I'm certainly not suggesting you should start putting them up again, apart from anything else it must have been very time consuming.

Anyway, it's value we have now lost, imo.

why don't you like ASDA?

Morning, Fred. Palmer bet is £20 each way (1/4 1-2-3) @ 80/1 with BMU, I believe.

Morning Mr T's.

It's time to find out if 3 months of looking after a 6 year old girl have completely addled my brain. The tennis season starts this week with 3 tournaments. The tournament where I have found a bet is in Chennai, India. Favourite is Stan Wawrinka but he looked uninterested last week so I have to find an alternative. With no form to go on we have hope that our selections have prepared well for the season. I am going to suggest a small bet on Benoit Paire to win this. He suffered injury in 2014 but had a great season last year winning titles on 3 different tours including his maiden win on the ATP. At 26 years of age he should be looking for another big season this year and should be fit and ready. He is in the same half of the draw as Wawrinka and would meet him in the semi, but if he gets to the final I would expect him to win against whoever he played. For that reason I will eschew my usual e/w bet and go for win only.

Suggest Benoit Paire to win in Chennai £10 @ 10-1 with Betfred or Boyles.

Welcome bask hector, I had wondered why you were AWOL.

Happy New Year.

PS - I'll leave the bet to Tighty to sort. It'll have to be BetFred I assume, as Boyles closed us down.

Shut'em down Vic went 5-2 Armstrong for the L1 Boot last night but quickly cut it to 6-4.

Guess someone asked for a fiver, got the spinning clock and were told the line had changed before leaving it. That tends to be the way of things with that farce of a firm these days.

If someone goes 2-1+ think we'll have to max it each-way. Twenty is normally good for a top-three spot in L1 and he's almost there. Be surprised if he doesn't get to 30 tbh. Conor the only one capable of going close to that number if he stays put.
