Is it more than Wembley cost to build? I am overstating it but it's going to be on that scale, isn't it? The sort of sum clubs build stadia out of, nations call GDP and Arsène Wenger calls a rainy day fund.

New Wembley cost £750m so less.
first five years rookie contract, so quite cheap at the time even as number 1 pick
18 seasons total
was taking up 25% of the colts salary cap on his own after their superbowl win, and they had to release him rather than re-sign him after 14 seasons. then plummeted to 1-15 and got the first pick in the andrew luck year, which was a stroke of fortune but the rest of the roster had suffered by the end of peyton's spell

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about the rookie contract.
$180m?

Great article from the Newcastle evening chronicle explaining how the club is run under Ashley if anyone is bothered

the answer is $244.8m
estimated he trebled that from endorsement contracts.

Milner's inner Coq came out at Palace.
Serious question Tal; I didn't see the game yesterday but what did you think of Elneny?

Behind the pace of the game. Reminded me of when Lamela came on for his debut at the Emirates. Probably too soon to tell whether he's up to the task. He'll improve, I'm sure. Sanchez was excellent. Caused problems all game with his movement.
It was an odd situation to start with two defensive midfielders, lose one, take the other off for an attacker to leave Ramsey the furthest back and then later bring one on.
As for Manning's endorsements, this just sums it up: you have just won the Superb Owl and who do you thank first?

Starts again tonight looking forward to it improving all the time, Surprised La Galaxy are joint favs De Jong is a good fit but will have to carry Gerard again like the whole midfield had to last season
Fc Dallas and Dc United would be my two against the field at this stage

With Palace we could have nicked a win a lot earlier in our down form to i think negate this worried mentality. I think a win today would have kicked us on and relaxed us. Looked well on for the win and then two individual errors.
I'm seeing too much perkiness to be worried about us but we somehow are clutching draws and losses away from wins.
I look at Leicester West Ham and Norwich coming up and would be shocked not to see 3 points and effective safety.
On the Pardew effect talking to some fans they aren't happy by the negative tactics holding on to the 1-0 against 10 men, whereas I'm giving Pardew the benefit of the doubt.
What a different season this could have been if we just maintained mediocre form, Europa league was there for the taking oh well.
At least I haven't tipped us on this downturn hey
. I have been actively looking at the value against us too, but pre game things have looked tight value wise. Bookies aren't rating our downturn that highly. Doesn't look like much of a bet in the Leicester game either.

Wow Pardew lost it in the press conference after the match, blaming himself for the result and then getting angry with the press. Down into 12/1 but if McClaren can somehow hold onto the job then maybe Pardew will do something stupid in next weeks and build more pressure on himself.
If McClaren stays and they get beat off Leicster then West Ham (away) then lose to Norwich at home surely he's going to be a gonner. Will be 16 matches without a win, j don't think he will stay hen. Lots of ifs and buts but that 20/1 last week looks great, especially as we expected them to lose today (and probably expected Newcastle to win too.
i mY be super wrong here but it seems to me that in almost every betting market, predicting the future (lol I know) and then betting big outsiders with intention to lay likely lowered odds seems really good way to make money or am I completely wrong?

If only life was this easy.
Have you ever checked the liquidity in the manager markets on the machine? I presume not you try and lay more than pennies on anyone bar the favourite.
You will struggle and certainly wont be able to lay at the best bookmakers prices.

It's all about Bolasie, isn't it?
This entire bad run has coincided with his injury, the last game Palace won was Bolasies last game before injury.
He has now started the last 2 games. A last minute wonder goal stopped you winning against Sunderland. And you were so comfortable until that McCarthy error today.
Palace will be fine imo.

This, and only Victor are up with prices right now. He may well still be 20/1 when they are all up.

Not sure why Speroni is not playing at all, a few Palace fans have suggested it is because Pardew does not like the fact he is more popular than he is

It does seem strange.
McCarthy started the season as No 1, made a few errors and was replaced by Hennessy. But Speroni was No 2 and on the bench for games when Hennessy played. Now that Hennessy was unfit, he goes back to McCarthy who then costs them the game?
Also Speroni is a few appearances short of a few different Palace appearances records.
