we don't have access to any of the 5 place books at 8-1
these are
skybet
bet365
betfair sportsbook
boyle
paddy
betbright
i could get 4 places at 8-1 with betfred.
the only 6 places book has ducked it completely 13-2 victor
it will have to be betfred 4 places unless any help is forthcoming
might 5-6 places be more widespread by friday, with the main price move likely to be saturday morning?
I can do 50 E/W on Betfair if required.
thanks, booked.

Tikay wont like it, but a mad rush on Brentford for relegation.
As low as 7-1 with Hills, but Corals a massive stand out 40-1
stories went round this morning that they were going to be placed into admin. (no idea on the story behind this, what Benham would be up to)

Hideki Matsuyama..
Although ive backed him for the win and places i think ive possibly
found a gem of a bet.
Hes playing well and won in pheonix in Feb
He pretty much floats about in the top 20 in the Rankings.(14th atm)
5th in the masters last year.
So Ladjokes and Choral have him at 6/5 for top 20 finish
Happy for views of others but id suggest £50 and add another option for the book.
GL Guys.
need some help on this please
HM has 6 top 20's in his last ten majors, 3 of 4 last year
5 of last 10 events in the top 20
what i don't know is if 6/5 would be seen as value or not?
tyia.

Pretty much confirmed as BS on a well connected fans forum. Strange.

Its that time.
You knew it was coming.
Every day for the past two weeks when I look at the home page of Oddschecker I see Many Clouds has been one of the best backed horses that day. Each day the top price remains 8-1.
I surely don't need to give you my reasons, unless you want an Ant like War and Peace. Suffice to say, i thought he performance at Kelso last time was as good as anything he has done before, and I think he is a better horse than last year
Come Saturday he is surely 5-1 at best.
Lets get that £50 ew on now please.
The one time I'm on at bigger prices.
What's the shortest price a horse has went off in national?

Think the 5/4 on yoonibet/eightx3/5red is ok. He is very consistent but only concern is he has had a couple of injury withdrawals this year.

http://grand-national.betting-directory.com/favourites.php
The shortest ever winning favourite was Poethlyn, who went off an 11/4 favourite in 1919
Rough Quest 7/1. Incredible price looking back. Should have been a 7/4 poke it was that thrown in. I was sure it went off 4/1 tbh. Surprised to see the sp was 7/1.
Who had their first ever bet on the national? Mine was 22 years ago in 1994. Moorcroft boy. Is it still the shop window to attract new punters that it used to be? Twenty years ago it was the biggest day of the year by a mile. Not sure it would even be the biggest punting day of the year at all now.

Haha.
First bet I had after he won last year was 50 ew at 25s. Plenty of prices in between and probably still more to go!
Lowest price I recall was Clan Royal a few years back at
. Sure there were some ridic prices in Tikays era.

Think every chance someone goes 10-1 the field for the National on Friday evening.
Same deal as with Sky on the Masters, they'll always push the boat out on this. Bound to be some funky EW terms too. Patience is good.

Can't recall one shorter than 5/1. I well remember the biggest handicap certainty ever ever in the Grand National, it was in 1979, and I waded in with every penny I could muster on that good thing, with jockey of the moment Jonjo up top. It went off at 6/1, but I had all prices from 33s down.
It's name was Alverton, lovely looking horse. It was going along nicely until Bechers second time around, when it fell and was killed.
Not sure I've ever much enjoyed the Grand National since then, though I will watch it if I happen to be near a tv.

Talking of the GN, I bet even Ralph can't remember the last time it was scheduled to start at 5.15pm, which is the plan this year.
Supposedly, that is to gain a bigger tv audience, but I'm not sure I buy that.
Pretty sure it will suit the bookies, though in some ways it's a double edged sword, as it depends to a degree on how the big football results pan out.

I can remember having a decent touch on Earth Summit @12/1. Thankfully the heavens opened after my rain-dance and they ran in a bog which my fella loved and it was backed into ~11/2 iirc.
I can't ever recall the race starting so late, apart from that time when Captain Cockup was the starter.

Quite Glad it is late. I have to travel to Munich on Saturday for the big European Construction Expo, Bauma, so hopefully in the hotel room in time.
To Chompys point, believe it or not, the reason I had waited so long to put up The Clouds, was to try and get the best of it, but the point I made about seeing Clouds in the Oddschecker Home page, means it must be getting some serious money every day(unless the front page of OddsC isnt about the best backed opportunites).
Therefore I suspect the bookies may have their fill of MC, and as it is likely to be a punters fav anyway, regardless of price, I'm not so sure they need to be so generous on Friday night. Just a view.
