Red Shouty Man hasn't seen the news that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is injured and out of the Monday night game at Arizona.

He was the lead in a two tight end system, so the plan will presumably be to switch to a one tight end system or to bring in a blocker to support Martellus Bennett.

Bennett has been brought in from Chicago in the summer. He's a top level TE but will spend much of the season playing second fiddle, while Gronk is about.

Bennett now is 10/11 with Hills and Paddy to score anytime. He's 7/4 with the red bookie. 12/1 first touchdown.

Fred had a nitty £20.

In better news, no money changed hands, as I cashed that void US Open Tennis bet that Uncle hector gave us when the geezer retired in the first set. So it feels like a £20 Free Bet to me.

Thanks Simon.

I'm not sure Tighty is around today. I suspect he has gone up to Liverpool, armed with notebook & camera for the big football event of today - the opening of the new Main Stand at Anfield. Tighty likes football stands. A lot.

I'm happy to perambulate up to Ladbrokes when it opens & get this on though. I know nothing of NFL (though I once set foot - one foot, literally - in Arizona) but the price does look way ool.

What is the worst price I should accept, if they have rumbled the coup?

This one is solely because they haven't noticed. There are some good reasons why you wouldn't back him at the ordinary price:

- They are away (not good for first TD markets)
- Their QB, one Mr Thomas Brady, is serving a suspension, so they have a no-nonsense Bwoston cop called Jimmy Garoppolo under center
- The Cardinals were 7th in the league at defending against opposing Tight Ends last year.

But if a bookie is going to price him up as a back up, rather than as a number one, we should punish.

Well we are on, as the price looks so good (relatively), but you make a good point there.

I will - just this once - share with you my NFL expertise on what I look for in First TD markets, although of course your bet is ANYTIME.

When looking at First touchdown scorer markets I ideally want to see three things:

a) I am backing a player on the home team

b) I am backing a favoured team, preferably a strongly favoured team

c) There is an element to the offense/defense match up that suggests a mismatch in the relative strengths and weaknesses of the sides.

Just to expand on point a), why would I favour the home team player? Whilst its not always the case, away teams will frequently defer if winning the toss and allow the home team to get the ball first. For two reasons a) the crowd is at is loudest at the start of the game (somewhere like Arrowhead, home of the Chiefs this particularly applies) so it can be difficult to run an offense and b) they then get the ball to start the second half when i) you have first chance to put in place the half time adjustments and ii) the crowd can be at its quietest before everyone gets back to their seats

Course, that's just my view.

Any suggestion that I stole that from Betting Emporium's excellent (& completely FREE) weekly Road to Riches article this week would be outrageous.

Don't think Fred can get on at PP?

16/1 for Barton to be sent off today in Glasgow. At the best of times he's got a screw loose, and with his various war of words with Rogers/Brown/whoever, the crowd giving him grief, he just looks like a powder keg ready to blow in the hot atmosphere of an Old Firm derby. I have no doubt Celtic players will be on the wind up with him cos he's a liability when he's lost his head (who can forget wanting to fight the whole City team on that fateful Agueroooooooooo day?!)

There you go again with the conspiracy theories again. It was hardly the whole Man C Team, just 7 of them........

7/1 only now, reluctant pass at that price I think

Bugger, but thanks anyway, & I hope it trots up for you.

Can see why the price has gone.  Have looked at the race and nothing is really close enough to betfair and it looks very competitive.  So you win on the place, but lose more on the win with a fair few.  Probably due to the big plunge on the favourite.   Might look again later.

I'm not on "The black unicorn" he's not Gronk. But then no-one is. In theory he shoukd step up to no. 1 tight end. But seems the be a lot of chat that they'll probably run Blount a lot this match. The discrepancy does make it more tempting though! Listed 7 tight ends I think have chances to score tomorrow at odds over Evens. Delanie Walker, Gary "British" Barnidge and Antonio Gates being the best looking 3 for me

We could double him up with "elbows" Fellaini @20/1.

I'd echo this and the fact wee Wullie Cockbum is in charge probably makes it an even stronger bet as he does like to be the centre of all the attention.

Are we on anything in the Portland yet?

May I make a recommendation for Double Up?

Might be mug punter logic but I always look at the top weight in a 5f handicap. Trainer in form and looked a very nice horse last season.

5 places 1/4 with a few. Red Shouty Man, £3.65 and Scuy all top price 11/1.

Get your skates on, tikay. £20 each way please.
