Nice work Tal.

The one time my bets weren't ignored. And they all stunk to high heaven. Absolute shocker for me on the NFL today.

A 3 yr old whose record reads 16 runs, 0 wins, 5 2nd, 1 3rd doesn't look the most promising profile, but had a look due to trainer's good record at this track - 31% strike rate 1.66 a/e. Trainer is also in good form 7 from 29 1.62 a/e last 28 days.

If we forgive a poor run lto, the previous neck 2nd on 5th Aug to Whatsthemessage who went on to win next 3 times and is now rated 91 looks impressive. The 3rd, 4th and 5th from that race have gone on to win since.

Suggest £10 Mama Africa at 10-1 5.15 Leicester today.

Thanks, Cavey.

It'll never be "ignored"; Tighty was on shore leave this weekend and tikay was spinning multiple plates. Just one of those things. I'm sure plenty of Fredites will be following you and your bets.

Not been around much myself to discuss bets either. Be good if we had more discussion about bets but can't always be the case.

Keep them coming.

In fact I actually placed both of Cavey's suggestions, but it was not to be. It does not matter a jot, this week the wins came from elsewhere, next week it'll be Cavey's turn.

I think congrats are in order for Gareth Barry, who makes a record 633rd appearance in the EPL tonight. That's quite something in this day & age - well done him.

But why only count top flight appearances since 1992?

Where does he place with the rest?

Stanley Matthews the GOAT with this record?

I like the separation of the stats. its not unprecedented, we have always spoke of pre and post war records.

there are fewer games played per season now, so goal / appearance records across seasons and careers will be different, and the standard of football is muh better. there isnt as much room for outliers to produce exceptional numbers.

Shilton has the record with 848, not sure where Barry places, or Matthews.

Granit Xhaka fgs on betty @ 30 is worth a dabble - it's very close to ko so will explain later.

<edit>

With Elneny playing alongside in midfield GX will have greater license to roam forward imo plus he's due one Smiley.

Meh.  Seems arbitrary to base it on a television deal.  Can't see why Gascoigne output for Spurs is discounted but him waddling around for Everton 5 years later is somehow deemed to be in a more enlightened standard of football.
