Sky 8 places in the Ebor!
Magic.
Any thoughts? I really like Raymond Tusk, conditions to suit and a few form/collateral form angles that make him look overpriced at 20’s. Win only, unless you’re lucky enough to have the 8 places.
I like Raymond Tusk too. Serms to like the firm too. Why do you need 8 places? Auarter first 5 or fifth first 7 are both very good. I would much rather take quarter first 5 at 20/1 than 14/1 fifth first 7.
Good morning,
Always nice when we like the same one 😊. E/W wise, I’ve just become much more selective in recent times on the e/w terms I i bet on, it might well be a mistake as I’m betting less (time constraints) so should be looking to minimise variance. I basically try to focus on only instances where the terms are exceptional, like the much discussed 16-17 runner handicaps1/4-4 and 1/4 5 places with ~20 runners. I basically dismissed the available terms due to the number of runners (24), probably a mistake I guess, now we have 22 it is more appealing. I certainly agree with your analysis of which is the best of the terms presently available. Ray was 20’s across the board when I placed my bet, there was plenty of 25’s, which I missed 😔.
Good luck to all having a bet.

Just thrown a couple of win-only darts at Ben Vrackie and Baghdad both @~14/1.
£600K FTW.

If he benefits from best odds guaranteed i'd rather take 14s 7 places, as likely to go off 18s,20s.
Also like the horse. Have also backed Desert Skyline
Exactly this. I think Doobs gets too worked up about what price it is at the time of placing the bet. Invariably market forces push the price out and you still have the extra places.
I got 16s on Raheen a month or so ago, but the 8 places have drawn me into Skyline as well, Vrakie and Prince of Arran.

Market forces my arse. They pretty much always go in from best prices and BOG is just a dream on sky or PP for me
Anyway 4th is good, woohoo. congrats Horneris

Hmmm.
Tusk was 16s with Sky, SP 16s
Skyline was 16s with Sky SP25s
Barsanti was 20s with Sky SP 25s
Prince of Aran was 40s with Sky SP33s
Not sure of the others but seems a fair argument to me and 3 extra places....

I, like plenty of others, can't get bog with Sky and tried to bet SP, but they wouldn't accept a bet from me. Initially it said max bet was £17.86 EW but when I put in £15 EW it wouldn't take it.

I got 20s Tusk quarter first 5 vs 16/1 fifth first 8. Sky was 16s at the time, Paddy Power 14s (paid 7). If you can bet with Sky and get BOG it is probably closer, but the bigger price and quarter odds probably shaded it vs the extra places on Tusk.
Taking 14s 7 places and getting 16s, which was the original counter to my point, turned out worse. I specifically didn't mention Sky as thread can't get on, and I didn't think there was much in it. I could have gone through every bookmaker's offering, but time is short with plenty of bets to get on and 2 kids to entertain on a sunny day.
All bookmakers at York bar 1 were a fifth first 4 when I went last year, and some of the ring prices were ridiculous despite this, so I am a bit sceptical of the effect of market forces in the ring there. I dare say a handful probably started as high in the ring as the best morning price in the Ebor. I would happily bet it wasn't the majority. If it was Cheltenham, I think it would be a different story.
I will just add that the Sky morning price when they are paying 8 places is a terrible proxy for best morning price, so their value as a comparitor is poor.
BOG itself has quite a bit of value with any bookie, and is going to have more value where bookies duck the best morning prices. Good luck retaining it for those who still get it.

Serious question adz how do you stll get BOG at sky? How many accounts have you gone through over the years to still get it? As a long term winning punter you obviously aren't on the same account. Most rags in that fiield should be bigger than skys insanely short 8 place early show your stats don't surprise me. I am just waiting forr a firm to offer 10 places on a race in the morning and bet to 290% doing so. I don't know when this 1/5 mmillion places stops when you just go bottom price everything. Whats the point if 99% of punters get BOG you are effectively going 8 places at sp and still doing your nuts. I get its a recruitment tool and keeps their levy payment down. Suppose the real loser is racing itself as its funding is slowly starting to find out as their levy payments keep falling whilst the big firms play racing at break even on big meetings to avoid the levy and get their profits from newly signed up types from their reinvestment on non racing products. It is all very clever but not very good for racing long term.

Not sure what you guys want me to say, or if you are calling me a liar or what? (Never needed to ask or grimmed anyone etc, which is the benchmark here of a loser....)
Been here plenty of years putting stuff up and never had the same problems you all seem to have. For sure I have gone through plenty of accounts. Moved banks once even, as they didn't like the action and it gave me a whole new lease of life.
Long and short, I have several avenues with sky(sorry tikay) and others, but probably I have plenty of time to spread it around and don't attract attention by putting hundreds on a single account at one time.To my mind, that is mug punting.
I bet in fivers and tenners but across various accounts, seems to do the job ok, but as I said, I have more time than most.
Can't give you any other info I'm afraid, but I do get annoyed when I am told I can't get on or can't get paid, when I can, by people supposedly cleverer than me.

Since favourable e/w terms with Sky is a hot topic and there must be some people who can keep their BOG accounts open.......
16:10 Goodwood is a nice spot. 1/5 4 places with 10 runners. Anna Nerium won this last year on soft, she doesn’t need it soft. Favourite is getting old now and prefers it like a road. I think she’s a good bet at 16/1 getting 3 places and 4 places is excellent. It’s reasonable to consider that the favourite has no chance at all, so 4 out of 9 places for a nice return.
Tony, please let me know if posting favourable spots with Sky here is inappropriate.

Hi Mr Kuku,
It's 100% fine, just because I can't get on does not mean some others can't. Keep them coming.
