The monthly 500 Deepstack was launched at the beginning of 2012 in replace of the signature 300 Deepstack, which had been running each month since February 2008. In its first month the 500 Deepstack attracted 433 entries generating a £216,500 prize pool and a top prize of over £61,000!

With 30,000 chips, double the starting stack of its predecessor, and a 50% increase on the 300's £100K prize pool, there's no wonder this event continues to be the most popular event each month.

blonde poker will once again be live updating the event, from tonight 7pm, Day 1a

Of course it is a busy weekend, with a new tour launching in Birmingham and established events in both Deauville and Salzburg taking away some regular players from this

Notwithstanding this, this should be another excellent event

Once again the final stages will be live streamed on www.dtdpoker.com, with coverage timed to coincide with that on here.

A little bit perturbed that as the only player sitting at his table at the start, he was forced to wait for at least one competitor to show up before a hand was dealt

Shame, he was dominating the table

Chris Bruce

I think its a bit rough for his neighbour in the blue t-shirt David Beauregard to be making the "loser" sign at him already, though
