I remember when Jamie Sykes got into a lot of grief for calling Marc Goodwin "part of the 90's" in reference to his poker ability Cheesy

Saw Marc at the Manc GUKPT last year, he seemed very happy playing live cash. He was on really godo form, very self depreciating, which some would find hard to believe given his previous Mr Cool persona, but he was putting himself down and telling us how all the kids are pulling all these moves that go over his head and it's all got too hard to win. Think he split with Littlewoods despite them copping the lot from the EPT win which was a shame

This thread reminded me of this feature. Seems like a different lifetime for so many reasons.

Apologies for the link if not permitted mods.

Never really had much to do with the web. Will get someone to change that though!

Look at the byline.

cliffs on sykes story plz

I don't know if it was even Marc who said anything, I remember Jamie said it somewhere (I'm not 100% that was the exact quote) and iirc it was Paul Jackson who gave him a hard tome about it at a gukpt. was hilarious

Whatever Marc's doing now, I wish him all the best. He's without doubt one of the nicest ,funniest & most generous blokes Ive ever met in life, never mind in Poker.

Copped the lot, as in a big piece of the prize? Was he on some sort of make-up deal with them?

I think it was offered to John Eames who turned it down.
