could you please stop chasing Ben Chilwell?
Hes 19, give us a few years with him first please!
I'd never heard of him until the recent chatter, how good is he?
Possible exit strategy for Kieran Gibbs?

very good. England left back at all age groups and U19 captain
likes to defend first and foremost, good going forward too. sweet left foot, it almost goes without saying
was on loan at huddersfield pre-xmas and they raved about him
hopefully going to be a good one. seen him live three times and just looks hugely comfortable in the senior game
gibbs out of contract this summer, right?

I'm not worried yet but I do wish we would replace Mertesacker. He's played a part in us getting more competitive, generally has good positional sense etc but does get very easily exposed at times - especially if we play a marginally high line. He's not helped at the moment by Flamini having no idea how to play as a central defensive midfielder.
Overall though, think the lack of good cover for le Coq is a much bigger problem for us than Mert's qualities or otherwise
Agree with much of this although it's worth mentioning that Koscielny's lack of awareness played Costa onside yesterday exposing Per for that rash tackle.
I'm pretty sure Elnenny will play in the cup game on Saturday, which was probably the plan AW had mapped out for him as it would have been a trifle unfair to throw him in against chavski.
Considering we've been playing with a makeshift midfield pairing since Santi and Coq were almost simultaneously injured, added to that the fact that Alexis has been missing too, our return from those last eight games is not all that bad.
Yep, hard to miss all that quality or have a bench that can deal with it as relatively well as we have.
The league is ours, of that there is no doubt :-)

Some great news with Coquelin and Rosicky fit again. I dont know how good Rosicky will be now at the age 35 and returning from a lengthy lay off but it gives us some much needed attacking depth from the bench. Hypothetically speaking:
----------Cech---------------
Bellerin Mert Kos Monreal
-------Coq---Ramsey-------
Campbell Ozil Sanchez
-----------Giroud------------
Bench:
GK, Gabriel, Chambers, Elneny, Rosicky, Oxlade, Walcott
That's 3 solid defensive options, 3 attacking, and not an Arteta or Flamini in sight. Cazorla, Wilshere and Welbeck still to come. If anything we'll soon have too many players.

do you think Giroud, supported/rotated by Walcott if you have to play him up top, is enough for the title?
does the brilliance of Ozil and Sanchez (presumably going to be fresh for the end of the season after his enforced break) offset any need for a striker?

All are fine IMHO.
I like the fact that no one seems to rate Walcott or Giroud that highly, bar me. Feels like we don't have to worry every year about Spanish offers, and so can build startegy around their strengths.

A very good day at the office for us with many positives.
A pleasing and promising debut from Elneny plus starts for Coquelin and Alexis.
The promising teenagerAlex Iwobi continues to catch the eye with his intelligent probing play in the #10 role normally occupied by the peerless Ozil.
The return of Tomas Rosicki and more game-time for Capt. Arteta.
Safely through to the FA Cup 5th round.

Gotta be Monreal left back, he's been debatably the best in the league this season. Still think City full strength>this team.

Tomas is 35 now and has had persistent problems, he missed over 18 months once.

By most peoples admission on here, this is our best chance for years to win the title.
Without the usual sniping etc, Arsenal fans on here only please, if we can't win the title this year, with so much in our favour, should the 66 year old manager keep his job next season?
