UKIPT main event

Hero 39k Button
Villain 22k Hijack

Blinds 200/400 a 50

Villain has replaced a bustout from another table.. has been here 3 hands.. this is the first he's played..

Folded to villain in the hijack and he makes it 900..

We look down at As and make it 2750 everyone folds back round to villain and he slightly more than minraise 4bets making it 5700..

What is our best line playing basically 100bb's against an unknown here 5bet / Call / Fold??<-- doubt i can ever do that

part of the value we have and the reason we three bet for value is not just because we dominate his range when we peels, and not only do we get to 5b and get it in ok s his range but its that we pick up an extra 20bbs or so when he 4b folds which in 2012 is v.common. We dont want to get called and we definitely dont want to get snapped. We are happy to pick up the 9k or wte is on the pot, but if it does all go in we arent devoed and are usually in deece shape, although admiteddly are an underdog vs his 4b/call range.

also you're only 55 big blinds deep. Still quite deep but with the antes, and the BTN vs HIJACK dynamic, coupled with the fact that you've been dealt the two highest cards in the deck and they are the same color = 5bet/calling. Jamming or making it 9k and calling is the decision, not sure which I prefer I guess 9k/call is slightly better as the SPR is already too shallow for either of you to peel and most of the stuff he 6b jams "light" which is just about never we'll do well vs.

I knew I fcked this hand up big time by not 5betting..

I've mentioned it everywhere i've posted I played the majority of my poker circa 2007-2009 and noone was really 4betting light so I was scared of QQ+ (i realise in hindsight ranges are so much wider).. I also bust Galway with AK allin pre so this was in the back of my mind.. anyway I flatted and the flop came down   two hearts ...

Villain Checks to us

It's a pity that there is no history to aid your decision making.

I would fold AK if I were risking my whole stack when I was starting the hand so deep. No need to flip with a big stack especially if you consider that you have an edge over the majority of the field. There are bound to be better spots.

However, AK suited is to strong to fold to a min raise 4 bet, and as the effective stack is 52 Big Blinds I would 5 Bet to around 15K and call a shove or I would 5 bet shove.

He would likely fold all the but the top of his range and there are only two hands that have you dominated. Worst case is you lose and are left with 45 Big Blinds.

Either way you also send out a strong message to the rest of the table and players will be less likely to 4 bet you light from then on.

Sometimes previous results can deffo fuck your thinking in these spots. You just gotta go with it tho.

Deffo just give up now. When oppo checks such a dry board makes me suspicious. Surely he'd bet all his air in this spot. Could have the same hand I spose

3bet smaller pre.

As played, as long as you don't have a read that he is going to be super tight, then just pile. I think click 5betting is pretty bad.

yeh, sorry didn't really make that clear.

completely oppenent dependant what I do on the flop, don't think you can really get a decent reply without knowing everything/as much as possible about the villain

Prize for guessing villains hand.

3bet smaller/get it in pre if he 4b vs his stack size I think. Sometimes would flat pre also.

As played I'd be checking back
