Totally cold decked i know and when he moved all in i kind of suspected the str8 flush.  However, i checked the nut flush on the turn hoping to encourage a bluff bet on the river.  I gave him just enough rope to be able to hang himself with a bluff on the river but unfortunately he had the stone cold kahoonas instead.  So really, i have 2 questions....

1. - should i have just called the $54 with the nut flush on the river or is this playing far too tight? - (note: he was the sort of player who would call a reraise with the K flush though, so i haven't got a problem with my min raise)

2. But... should i have folded to the all-in or is it just not British to fold a nut flush with a possible str8 flush showing?

thoughts please.

1. Nothing wrong with the reraise you have no way of knowing he has you beat.

2. I've never known anyone raise allin on the river WITHOUT the nuts let alone reraise.
He's shouting straight flush IMO. It really depends on what you know about him, if you think he has the slightest clue about the game you must fold.

Pass that and you are a fool.

Its just unlucky. The way you played it he cant put you on the nutflush so could be bluffing or could believe his K hi fd was good.

Add in he could just be a drunk yank and its a call.

exactly flushy! - i played it to disguise my hand and encourage a bluff from an aggressive player and it worked, therefore when he makes the bet i think the trap has worked perfectly so i am happy to call the all-in. - just unlucky i think, i would have to be seriously in need of grocery money to have folded the nut flush there.

I wouldn't have reraised.

Unless he's a complete fish, his bet on the end is only really going to be a bluff. If he doesn't have the nut flush or either of the straight flushes, then he's probably going to check. Small flush, trips, etc will all be checked.

Therefore, it's either a bluff or nuts. The nuts is going to reraise you and the bluff will fold, so you might as well just call.

As for his all-in reraise, I think you must fold. He wouldn't make that move with a hand weaker than yours.

Just my 2 cents. Obviously  I could be wrong, but I find that this situation occurs more than you might think. On the whole though, they normally seem to have you by the short and curlies.

thanks snoops, i am really annoyed at myself for not just calling on the end - the only way i get further action is if he has 5-7 or 10-7 of diamonds (not hands that i want action against) - i know it was greedy. - i couldn't bring myself to fold the A-flush though! - lesson learned -  i came off the table after that hand as i was about $200 up after that little accident and wanted to preserve the profit.  I definately would have spread a little more cheer around the table if i had stayed and played on :-)

I wouldn't get too annoyed. It's not the worst thing to do in Omaha. I still do it myself.

Then think 'Crap. I'm playing Omaha, straight flushes aren't all that uncommon.'

The he moves all-in and I make the crying call. Then I say 'Crap, what am I doing, I new he had my nut flush beat'.

Sometimes you just can't help yourself. You wait for so long to hit a nust flush that you convince yourself that it's the best hand, even when it's rereraised.
