See, this is a completely different matter. Do i Respect her? massively so, yes! She is an Olympic athlete and a very good one at that, hardly anyone will be able to represent their country at her level. The woman commands respect, which i willingly give.

Does thinking she is rancid in a solely superficial sense make me respect her any less as an athlete/human being? No

Some of my closest friends are hideous, of course I tell them this just as they point out how fat I am. Does it make me love/respect them any less? No. Why would it?

Tip: having ugly friends makes you better looking no matter how fat you are.

Also as much as Milligan84 has defended his position on Ennis and Pendleton I'm sure the use of the word "Rancid" was a completely flippant comment.  I agree with Red-Dog everyone on gods green earth should be treated with some respect, but this particular comment is just a bit of banter...
