We're all becoming TOTAL blackjack pros init.

We were just having a casual game pre spa treatment (was keiths bday, he insisted we all spent the day in the spa - marv), me and mitch grinding the table minimum, upped the stakes a bit post spa (nice and relaxed, ready for the swongs) then had a pre dinner spin, post dinner spin, I call it a night at midnight, Stato says he'll be home in 10 minutes, he doesn't stumble in till 630am, reporting a combined 5k total victory for him and Mitch! This is never going to end well!

Played the $600 venetian today - huge field - 579 runners, almost 60k ftw. I was one of the chip leaders at the third break, had the absolute lot - and was bust within half an hour of the restart. So brutal 33<66 on 963 then lost 3 consecutive flips with AK, AK and AT all vs pairs, ALL turning me dead! So brutal!

Just cheering myself up doing my nuts in the shopping mall by the Wynn. LOVE VEGAS!

Feel like I've been here for about two weeks already when it's only been 2 days! Done so much and everything is so much fun sleeping seems like such a waste of time.

Poker wise, played the Binions 1k on Wednesday, got off to a decentish start but then played a hand horrendously and gave away most of my stack and bust soon after, deffo one of the worst hands of my "career" than I can remember. Today was much better play wise (though the nett result was very similar) at the $600 Venetian Deepstack. Put in a really solid tournament in terms of decisions but was kind of card dead after a while and ended up grinding my 20bigs to a slow haltm eventually losing KQ vs AJ aip iin a standard spot. Really enjoyed playing at the Venetian and can't wait for the 2.2k bounty event tomorrow.

Played 3 cash sessions so far and am winning a very small amount, prob < 1 meal.

Had a pretty sick night last night. Was Keith's birthday, and his girlfriend Helen's last night before flying home, so we went out for a meal here:
http://www.venetian.com/las-vegas-restaurants/fine-dining/postrio/

Was pretty nice though I ordered the Liver which was probably an error.

We then headed to the Palms to go and check out "Ghost Bar" which was really good. Cool looking and good music, with a really good view of the strip, the $20 entrance fee and $50 round for 4 people was almost justified I suppose! Theres a part of the floor which is glass and you can see 50 or so floors below you to the ground. Pretty nervy to stand on, and they infact had to cordon it off once Mitch and I had done, when the glass fitting started to shift. The club at the other side of the Palms was also pretty sic, but we were all pretty tired so left at around 2 and headed back to the apartment

Sadly Me and Mitch got stopped by a Blackjack table and about 15 strawberry cocktails later, were catching the most incredible run of cards. A personal highlight was me and Mitch having 100 each on the same box, being dealt 33 vs a dealer 6. Split and got dealt two more , so split again. In for 400 each this could turn out to  be a pivotal hand in the rich tapestry that was our evening, should be ok though, the dealer showing a 6 after all. We hit to something like 13, 13, 12, 15, but so as long as he bust we'd fine. He revealed his down card as a 5 which had us in dire straits, but not to be defeated, the rest ran out something like 23Qwiiiiiii and we scooped. Not too long later we decided it was probably time to leave with our winnings after the management offered to comp us a room for the duration of our stay, so long as we would keep putting in the hours (LOL).

So we got in our Limo and went directly home...

Having an absolute blast so far and so much more stuff planned I'm still really excited about. The first few things that spring to mind are Penn and Teller, all sorts of cool places to eat and drink, and of course the Main Event!

Special Mentions go to Tikay, for his incredible run the the PLO8 bracelet event, narrowly missing out on the FT, congrats! And also to Shola, who true to form is outperforming us all. Having already finalled one of the Venetian Deepstacks, she returns to day 2 of the biggest one so far tomoro, with double average stack, about 36 left and  70k FTW. gogogogo!!

Time to sleep, will hopefully get some photos up soon to go with my morbidly dull descriptions!

OK so the guys keep telling me I need to start posting on here to let people know what I'm up to and tbh there's no real reason why I don't except the fact that I'm lazy and that I am a mega computer fish and just this post will probably take me about 3 hours :-)

So my trip so far has been good, we arrived last Monday and have been staying in the venetian which is really nice and would stay here again for sure, of course the meridian apartments will be my first choice next year as it seems the lads have had such a nice time there so far ;-)

The poker side of things for me has not quite gone to plan, however I was clever enough to teach my fiance to play poker to the point where she is now teaching me and the poker is going very well for her on this trip so far. She cashed her 2ND comp here, finishing 6Th for $7.2k and has just made day 2 of the Venetian 600 already in the money with 380k, going back at 4k/8k, 37 left and 70k up top. average stack is 230 so in good shape.

I have made two day 2's so far, the 2.5k venetian where I bust 20Th with 13paid and today I played day 2 of the binions $1k after grinding 15-20 bigs for almost the entire comp I got it in pre with   v   on the bubble and lost :-(

Cash games have been good me for, up around $3k ish so far and shola's in profit on the omaha cash too. The games I've played have been really soft and tbh have found them really easy to play, just chilling out and waiting to make hands and get payed everytime because nobody folds in Vegas. Had a really nice 2/5 game tonight, sat with stato on the table too and we were kinda just taking it in turns to extract money from the fish, one drunk customer in particular donating $500 to the table every round or so.

Tomorrow is the venetian $2.2k($500 bounty) which I'm really looking forward too, have high hopes for this comp (even tho I know I'll probably just bust and be on the rail for shola again)

Nice update Simon - GL for the Venetian comp.
