Do you guys that play regular there think there will be any pros/cons (apart from obv will have to at least plan to stay 2 days overnight) from which starting day will be best to play for amatuer player, and how many you expect to play each day,ty for any replies.

Why worries about pros? Just worry about urself if u wanted to play .
There's lots of fishes , pros & donks aswell . Just don't don't tell them what categories
u felt into . U decide !!! There mayb 150 for Day1A and 300 for Day1B + alternates .

Usually play 1b for convenience and think the field is usually softer and has more players so early tables are easier. However this time a lot of decent players are looking to play Stoke and come to Dtd day 1b if they bust so 1a could be softer. As a recreational player just enjoy whichever day you choose. Play your game and run well

It's very rare you get a 'hard' starting table, most tables are usually soft regardless of the day but that doesn't usually stop me busting pre antes ofc. Day 1b is the best option though imo.

There used to be a "style" bias in the two days because of re-entries. Play would be more loose on 1a as people played for a stack, twice, knowing they'd be back on 1b if necessary

Now as a freezeout that tendency will be removed

In general you'll find the field on 1a have a higher proportion of local players than 1b, and 1b people have travelled from further afield

If you live far enough away that you need a hotel, then of course 1b is going to be cheaper expenses wise

You'll find field size for 1b about twice that of 1a

I heard and read about a year ago that day 1a was supposed to be the the softest in any live MTT. However I would tend to agree with Smashedagain that as there are usually more runners on day 1b  the fields do seem a little softer.
I used to always play d1a so that I could re enter if I didn't make it to day 2.

But as the tourneys at DTD are not re entry at the moment I will be playing day 1b now.

Good luck whichever day you play.

Day 1a always better as if you make day 2 you have the full day off.
