Chips all stacked the same way up is also important. Value side downwards, which is actually upside down at DTD.
arrrrrgghhhh. Don't want to get in many pots with you then Smiley

I seriously recommend you read The Mental Game of Poker if you have such superstitions.

Having said whenever I insta-snap call an all-in I always lose, so I usually take a second before calling Smiley

Yeah never tick the call xxxxx amount box when someone is all in.

I think some people are confusing superstitions with OCD.

No superstitions but all chips must face the correct way up (at DTD, that is value side UP) and no alignment of pattern, when looking at the stack from felt level.

I don't think I'll lose if I don't; I just like things to be on my terms Smiley

As for things I try to do to ensure I don't ruin my chances of success (I guess being the OP's question), when I'm in a really important race AIPF, I like to try and win at least one in four (I'm realistic...)

People with weird favourite hands "had to call the 4-bet pre with J2o because I once won a tournament/big hand with it".

I have a superstition though, it's impossible to have a hand hold against Mitch when he's eating...

Not online .....
But I always use the same urinal and sink at DTD ....(I've never won anything maybe it's time to change)

well done for being in the maybe 20% that use a sink at DTD

I'd back the unders on that Adam
next time look how many people put their hands under the taps and because the sensor does not turn the water on, they pretend to wash them and then go and put their dry hands under the hand dryer
I realise I was being generous with 20%

Dirty bastards, WASH YOUR HANDS!

The worst is the ones who wipe their hands on their trousers.
They know they have piss on them, but they decide, not enough to use a bit of soap before touching the same cards and chips as everyone else.
Or, straight to the buffet. Urgh

As a man of science I am quite aware that superstition is not a thing, but it can definitely become a thing. I recently had to throw out my red boxers 'cause I had my two biggest losing days in them and just couldn't bring myself to wear them again; pretty sure if I did I would have a different mental attitude going into a game, albeit only slightly. I know that's pretty dumb, but the subconscious mind is a powerful thing.

Also re: holding/binking in all-ins. If you will it hard enough, fate will take great pleasure in bending you over and crushing your dreams. You have to convince fate that you want to lose, but fate is too savvy to fall for the "I don't want to win" mentality. You have to get it just right with a sarcastic "I'm a favourite," even with three or less outs. You will always level fate into making the wrong decision, which is beneficial for us.

The key is to not think about the cards they need to hit. If u visualise them cards whilst the cards are being flipped then ur gg'd for sure

Similar to this, when I'm all in pre-flop, flop or turn, I look away from the screen and don't look back until the river has been dealt.

Yh, you still have to look thou really don't ya. I cant help it. Its all part of the 'fun'

I usually try furiously blinking at the screen whilst shouting nooooo, fk off fk off fk off. [  ] It helps alot

Probably don't even use the toilet roll.

The bastards who really annoy me are those who go in the cubicles piss all over the seat.  There is absolutely no hope of them ever washing their hands.  What is that about?  Give them a choice of 20 urinals, I know wht I'll do, I'll go piss on one of these seats in here...  And why do you get one of them in every office you ever work in?  Two disabled people, check; enough ladies in management positions, check; IT help desk so that we can be told to switch our computers off and on again when something goes wrong, check; fella who always uses the cubicle and pisses on the seat, check.

Herbie, do you wear those hoodies because of a superstition?
