A Round with Gazza Snr and Jnr

11    1    Paul Grummitt 29,00
11    2    Kurt Goodwin 33,000
11    4    Dawn Allum 31,000
11    5    Alex Goulder 6,000
11    6    Edward Gascoigne 16,000
11    7    Philipp Kiefel 25,000
11    8    Anthony Arlott 45,000
11    9    Ian Gascoigne 28,000

150-300, Level 4

Hand 1 button seat 5

Grummitt calls

Kiefel checks in the big blind

They check down

Grummitt  wins

Hand 2 button seat 6

Grummitt calls

Ed Gazza calls

the blinds complete and check

checked to Ed Gazza who makes it 525

Arlott and Grummitt call

Grummitt 1,000

both pass

Hand 3 button seat 7

Goodwin opens for 800

All pass

At Genting Sheffield, players hear that Goodwin has openbed a pot, and they all pass on their tables too

Hand 4 button seat 8

Goodwin 800

Anon calls

Goodwin 900, Anon calls

Goodwin checks, Anon 1400

Goodwin folds and goes back to his full English breakfast

Emboldened, I order a full English breakfast minus egg, extra bacon, from Terri

Hand 5 button seat 9

Arlott opens to 3,525 which is a miserly 11x the pot plus

Gascoigne senior looks at him and tells him he himself has a big hand.

Little does Ian know that poker is a game of incomplete information

Ed Gascogine beckons me over

"don't take notes, what happens now is Father thinks for ninety seconds and folds"

Ninety seconds later, Father folds

Arlott wins the pot

Hand 6 button seat 1

Allum opens to 800

Ian Gazza calls

Grummitt 4,200

Allum calls

Ian Gazza looks at his cards again and folds 8-8 (a guess)

Allum long think calls

check

Grummitt 5,200

Allum folds

Hand 7 button seat 2

Gascoigne Senior to 750

All fold

Hand 8 button seat 3

Arlott to 825, a more reasonable 2.7x the big blind this time

Grummitt calls

Goulder all in big blind 6,650

Both fold

Hand 9 button seat 4

Anon to 800

All fold

11% of those in when today's registration closes at 7.15pm. there are currently 52 in and maybe 70 at close, so one table will come back from today

I have analysed the numbers through for the last 18 months on a spreadsheet at home and it varies between 14.3 and 19.6% with a mean of about 16% and a median of 17% but thats with 15 levels

So lets reduce that a touch and say 11%
