Have you the same insight into Palace's squad?

No, but i can still see the defence which Holloway is picking.

Simply not good enough for a top 6 Championship team.

Very unlikely it improves under Ollie too.

Would you agree Ramage is shaky from your experience of watching him?

Very shaky, tries hard and is supposedly very good in the dressing room. But not good enough to be playing in a team looking for promotion to Premier League.

Would say the same about Delaney too. Gabbidon is better, but still behind the defenders at several of the other teams around the top.

Just got back from the Wednesday v Brighton game.

First, its clear Brighton are a very good footballing team and if you let them play they are likely to give you a good hiding.

Its also clear they don't like the physical side of the game. Close them down, get in their faces and they really don't like it at all. The dummies start to get spat out big time.

I can see this being their achilles heel this season from what I've seen today.

Some of the theatrics from Brighton today were embarassing. There were three or four occasions when they were rolling around looking to get players booked and then getting up with nothing wrong them. I would say there was also an embarassing dive from Leroy Lita too.

A welcome 3 points for Wednesday in a game I expected us to lose.

we need a massive CM, and a massive pacey CB and we will romp to the title next season.

Just thought I would highlight that, to make it easier to find next season.

I've already said it on this thread before. Sign them two and keep what we have, we will win the league next season.

Just picked up the next Bridcutt though from Chelsea today, so perhaps he is off in the Summer to the prem.

Buckley seems to be missing an awful lot of games - but not consecutively.

Is it one injury he is struggling to shake off, or a series of different injuries?

Hamstring every single time, sigh. Shouldn't run so quick!

I am happy you see the problem with Ramage too, I don't see why our managers have stuck with him as our first choice.

Delaney is a better player and his inclusion in our team basically meant our backline was workable and his partnership with Blake was awesome when they went at it, but I don't think those two will be selected with Ramage available. Gabiddon was a class above any centre back we have had at Palace for a while when played, but much like Vicente at Brighton, he is a bit of a luxury signing.

Parr was voted our player of the season last year and is very solid defensively. However, we are probably starting Dean Moxey who going forward offers something but defensively he is way too open to mares. This of course is at left back.

And Jazz Richards at right back, I have no idea about, played well on Saturday apparently and set up one of the goals. Joel Ward is our stock right back and he was doing well up until his injury, but is back soon.

Won't dispute your knowledge of other teams defenses in this league, and would agree with Ramage in the team is is always going to be weak. But I think our midfield options and Murray, on the form that he has been in will keep us comfortably in the top 6. Automatic promotion is a long shot, to say the least.

I would like you to learn as much as you can about Jedinak from the sources that have been reliable to you, if you can or want to, or by watching him yourself some time. The guy has been by far our best player in the team this year. I see he is an awesome player but I lack the knowledge of other midfielders in this league, so wouldn't mind your opinion on him when you get a solid look at him, please.

I too would say with the game in hand and the point ahead of me in this bet, you should be very confident, but I am finding hope in Brighton's inconsistency, and the possibility that we have turned a corner with the Charlton result on Saturday, after only 1 win in 8 before that.

I've only seen them 4 times I think so perhaps not qualified to comment, but I think Brighton are over-rated.  They remind me of Colombia in the 1994 World Cup - all pretty but no end product.  Haven't seen this new Ulloa chap though so that might give them a focal point.

Watford should be full strength on Friday for Palace game.  Vydra started for Czechs but taken off after an hour, Chalobah played 20 mins for England U21 and Battochio played a half for Italy U21.   Nobody else used as far as I can see so they should all be fresh enough for Friday.

Are Palace getting Odemwingie?

Dung, Craig Forsyth, he's a ex-Dundee player, how's he been?

I sense there is a really good player trying to get out but he frustrates me.  Good in the air but lacks pace.  Played about half the time last season and is currently our backup left wing back in case Pudil gets injured and only gets to play the odd game.  I imagine they might offload him in the summer.

How are you feeling, generally, on our bet, Camel?

Extremely confident.

Went to Sheffield Weds v Brighton on Saturday

Brighton have a ridiculous amount of quality for the Championship.

On another day they would have won 5-0.

But Ashley Barnes is a dick and Wednesday scored 3 scruffy goals at the worst times possible for Brighton.

The gulf in quality was enormous though.

Ulloa showed me enough that leads me to believe he's going to be a monster at this level.

There is definately a gulf in class Camel, you're right, that was why I was on Brighton at 7/4 which I thought was a big price :-(

Brighton can pass the ball and on their day will take some stopping.

I can see them dominating teams at home and picking up alot of points.

Like I said before though, their achilles heel is the physical side of the game. If the oposition get at them, close them down and stop them playing they will struggle away from home.

I can't see them enjoying away games in the next couple of months in wet, cold conditions.

There are strong rumours that we are signing him on loan till the end of the season.
As a palace fan I have seen too many rumours go south to think about how good it would be if it happened.

There would be an issue too with having too many loans. But would imagine that Nimely and Butterfield will be released, if possible. I know the latter is only with us for another week anyway, I believe.

Interesting that emergency loans can only happen from Premierleague clubs to those outside of the Premierleague, as that obv means the rumour has more credence that he will be coming to us. But of the teams in the top 6 would there be a better suitor for Odemwingie, in terms of the club making use of his services at Watford, Cardiff, Boro, Leicester and Hull?

Whoever wins goes second. HUGE game.

Have no idea what our starting lineup will be from midfield onwards.

Happy days are back in this household.

Spoke to a couple of Derby fans earlier and their colour drained from their faces right in front of me when King Billy was announced that he was coming home.....priceless!

Best thing that's happened to us since, errrr when Billy was last here.

I didn't go to this game, but from what I heard from others, Wednesday was comfortable & Ulloa was not in the game.

I would hardly say gulf is enormous either, they do not like playing against teams that are very physical, so would question how many points they are going to pick up against the physical sides in the division.

Also think Poyet does not know his best side?!

Such slowrolls in the TfT thread too regarding this...

I was worried that he was going to be the next Blackpool boss, but I'm guessing his meeting with Oyston got the McLeish resignation (mutual parting of ways) pushed through lively.
