Greer been injured?  Surely El-Abd can't be keeping him out on ability?

Would say the thing that impressed me about Hull when we played them recently, was how well they were set up defensively, which really gave us trouble to penetrate them with much ease.

Yeah, they set up good defence didn't they? You only knocked four past them.

Palace 4-2 hull

Knew people would think that, and a lot of Palace fans thought the same when I said the same thing. But you take away our dodgy penalty, and the break we had to make it two nil very early doors in the second half, they were set up well.

We got lucky as i said to break the goal barrier and then Phillips as decisivie as he was took his first open play chance, and then you are right that they fell to pieces a little. But you would two goals down and trying to chase a game.

Saw about 10 mins of the second half of that Hull game yesterday and caught their goal. Such a depressing watch to see Burnley's defence not try to hassle down the guy who laid Quinn up for his shot, had way too much time and I could see it happening. Outrageous, bit of defending, but I also saw after the game that Burnley had a few chances to draw so Hull must have been riding their luck.

The Championship is such a great league isn't it?  The unpredictability makes it for me.

This thread has also had some great debate too.  No plastic fans here.

Putting loyalties aside, who is going to get that 2nd spot?

Too tough to call I think.

Obv everything I say is tainted with my alliance to Palace, so that is a self knowing disclaimer right from the bat.

I think Cardiff have a decent chance not being in the top two, after basically losing way too many games in their run in now. They do have 2 games in hand and are 5 points clear of third but I just sense it is going to happen.

But lets just say Cardiff have the top spot sewn to make things easier.

I think Watford are the most likely, then Palace, then Hull. All I have to go off, is my limited knowledge of the other two teams, but just have the feeling when Watford actually put out their best 11, of the ones that are  available to play, they are the best side in the league.

I think when Palace have their best eleven out, which hasn't happened in a while now, we are the second best. We have been affected in our last game heavily by having a midfielder at right back and Gabiddon and Garvan out injured. With our right back becoming available and the KG Jedinak partnership happening again, we probably just need to start Williams ahead of Dobbie, and have both Bolasie and Zaha on the wings with Murray up front by himself. Then change things in the second half with Phillips and Dobbie coming on. Dobbie isn't as effective as Williams currently and comes across as quite a lazy player, but a heavily effective one when he rears his head!

Williams on the other hand has proved himself, in the last two games that he could be one of the best midfielders playing in this country, eventually. I still think he is a teenager, he still has to improve on his strength as he is so small, but he puts himself about regardless. The rate of which he has improved this season is much like how Zaha improved from last. I was raving that about Zaha at the beginning of this season and he was snapped up by Man U, I am very soon, but not quite yet, going to put my bollocks on the line about Williams following a similar route, but I need probably until the rest of this season. But it's ridiculous how well he is playing at the moment but as he is injury prone, I hope he stays fit and can continue to show how devastating he can be. There has actually been murmurings David Platt has been to a few of our games and Man City are interested in poaching him, but I am not quite sure.

Of Hull I see a very astute defensive side that doesn't really play expansive football but are a great solid unit together, normally. They obviously don't turn up to the races on occasion as was seen in most of the second half against us and away to Bolton, but they will trudge away and won't ease off.

So think Watford will be above Palace and Palace above Hull and have a feeling Cardiff will be second.

these programme notes show o driscoll in a much better light than his awkwardness in press conferences

http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/20130311-sodboronotes-701583.aspx?pageView=full#anchored

well worth a read

SOD is a top coach. Can't help liking the guy.

Always suprised that a big premiership club haven't snapped him up to be part of their coaching set up.

said it before and i will probably say it again but he should be coaching at a top 4 club

"I desperately wanted us to win the game, but I just as desperately didn't want us to suffer the kick in the teeth of losing it"

Thought the rest of the article was great but had a little gripe with this statement. If there is 0 points available for a loss, 1 for a draw and 3 for a win, surely his statement is a bad mentality. Mathematically it would be better to gamble for the win where you can, especially say, if the chances of you getting it over a loss is 50/50. I think the mentality of that statement is wrong, especially for a side really needing wins over draws. But maybe I am looking too much into that.

Maybe he is risk averse? I actually am gambling and don't know enough about him to suggest that with validity but would rather someone in the know to shed more light. As always I come in peace with my statements.

I think that is fair

he was sometimes accused of being defensive previously

I think Holloway was as well wasn't he? I think he had the tag while at Leicester and said that he had a defining moment at one point in his life and then he completely went the other way with how he wanted his teams to play football and is probably why in recent years he has become a much bigger success than he was previously.

So addictive to watch Palace at the moment I must say, and Holloway is a big reason for that. Just have to watch the highlights of the Leeds game to see how pretty our football is. Just really need a few more deadly finishes to help us out.

Greer been pretty bad this season. Got suspended and not let back in seeing as we have conceded like 2 goals in 5 games. Down to our keeper and Upson though!

Plus el abd has a few cheeky Egyptian international caps Wink

Lump on Barnsley tonight boys.

Who knows? Could be some changes tonight. We have a terrible records v Leeds and this is our seventh game in a few weeks. Guesswork at the moment with Poshies.

EDIT Much more defensive tonight, with that useless lump Mendez-Laing dropped and tired Irishman Grant McCann given a break also. Set up to try and nick one on the break, so Gayle or Swanson perhaps most likely Posh scorers.

You rather have Gayle than CMS?

CMS a Poshie legend but Dwight's potential is scary. Absolute bargain and don't see him being at London Road for long. The sky is the limit at the moment. Wpwpwp Arsenal for chopping him for lack of height.

Naughty equaliser by Cardiff in the last minute!

Still confident they aren't winning this league. Can they really limp over the line? 1 win in 5 atm.

My bet with Camel has finally become tasty. Sunday is now huge for that.

Could be 5 nil. About 7 players out injured. Hoskins, CMS, Barnes, Bridge, Vicente, El Abd, Bruno (and Dobbie out on loan).

Had £50 on Barnsley @ 2.1/1, all gone on Palarse now. Free moneyyyyyyyy!
