Finally Palace results regressing to the mean.

About time too.

(watch them come back and win 3-2 now lol)

We have destabilised our defense too much in this one, changed our CB and LB and Gabiddon is acting a little too casually for me, thought he could have closed down a little better before Redmond struck. I think the Ramage Delaney partnership probably shouldn't have been touched until the end of the season, just as we can't afford to wait for Gabiddon to settle back in and have the surrounding players get accustomed to him too. Our defense isn't the best, so we shouldn't change so dramatically when we have summin going. OFC we lost 3-0 to Brighton, but I would say that was a real off day for us, we gave up after two sucker punches.

No Zaha, we look a little dead. We need Bolassie on the ball on the wing and running at defenders, scaring their defense, getting them deep and start then feeding Murray with crosses. Really suffering from not being able to use both wings too with the threat of Zaha. Not sure what we are going to do. I don't think the two up front is working.

We get it back to 2-1 before the 75th minute, then we can go in for the kill and 3-2 would be a possibility, we get on top, they crap themselves and its a different structure.

We're such a confidence team at the moment it is unreal, look so crap or so good, no middle line grinding out results.

All I want is that SPARK!!!!!!!

Fuck me, Dikagcoi at right back really is going to make our defense look shaky, got to hope we provide too much up front.

Got to say Birmingham have impressed me.

All the youngsters Clark has been playing are starting to gel and for the first time this season they are starting to look decent.

They really aren't bad at all. Nathan Redmond is a very good player.

We need to bundle a goal in asap.

The three times I saw in the first third of the season they were shocking.

This is a completely different team though.

Maybe Lee Clark isn't such a terrible manager after all.

Even Butland is looking like the keeper he's been hyped up to be.

Not for me, he will be really dodgy imo if he plays in the prem. Generally see way too many mistakes from him. Thought his first half rush out to get to the ball in front of Phillips was laughable but got away with it.

Forgot about that.

Decent save in the second half though, thought it was in but he clawed it away at 0-2.

Off another forum....

According to Ray Winstone these are the latest odds for Holloway's excuse in his post match interview:

10/1 The late kick off time

7/1 Unpredictable English weather

5/2 The amount of foreign loanees at Watford

LOL.

It was a solid save, but we didn't test him enough really to see what he was about.

Their centre backs were awesome.

Trying not to bore you with an essay. Jedinak was off his game today. He spearheads our team with vitality in the middle and basically creates a massive wall saying "you shall not pass", we draw confidence from that and with a solid defender in defensive midfield we gain confidence to take the piss on both of our wings and peg teams back. We were also missing our superb outlet on the left hand side in Zaha. When you get the midfield five of Jedinak, Dikagcoi, Williams, Bolasie and Zaha, all geared to hit the wings and provide loads of crosses to Murray we are normally in games. Dikiagcoi and Jedinak had bad games, Bolasie was doing well but by himself, Murray had scraps to go off and everyone was feeling the pressure. Maybe the fact that we are fighting for second is the reason we aren't playing the best. Too much expectancy here and we're not enjoying ourselves and building momentum. We have no right to expect to get second, so our players should relax and just go for it.

Jedinak looking generally all at sea there is fiercely worrying. It looked like he may have been given the task of man marking Zigic and that could have threw him off his normal game, I am not sure, but for the sake of our season we have to hope he remains our rock in the middle. I hope that isn't the start of a downward trend and maybe he was just upset Zaha wasn't playing. I dunno.

Not sure if we don't go up, that we will be pushing for promotion again, and maybe all the players know that, thus the pressure. I saw enough to know we are a good footballing side in flashes, but we need to start getting arrogant and do that all game. Enjoy ourselves.

Not quite sure how we are going to react after a 3-0 and 0-4 loss. Hopefully the pressure eases!

Lee Clark is still one of the poorest managers in the league, if not THE poorest.

Birmingham are in an average position, Huddersfield he had plenty of resources, so goes to show there isn't anything impressive he has really done.

We have had so much luck in terms of other results going our way.   Today's game is a real test for us, and, almost a full house at the City Ground today.

You can watch the match live if you look in the usual places.

It seems nobody wants to take that 2nd automatic spot, well, we'll have it if you don't want it!

Good luck everyone today (well, almost everyone)

The morning after the night before.

Have a feeling we are at rock bottom in terms of where we are mentally and think that yesterdays result will act in us not giving a crap anymore and enjoying ourselves. Like I said the expectancy from everyone about our team put too much pressure on a side a little light headed about where we are in the table.

We are an outrageously on or off team, if that on switch happens on Monday against Blackpool away then I am a solid believer we go all guns blazing and won't continue playing some apathetic bollocks. Win on Monday and if Holloway keeps some sort of consistency at the back and doesn't play Dikagcoi there at any point ffs, we could be onto that run 7 wins in 7.

Seems outrageous to say, but he needs to keep a backline and stick to the tried and tested 4-5-1 formation. He probably should never look to bring on Phillips to play two up front from the start EVER. If he wants to do that in the last 30 mins then fine, we will offer something different. I think he feels his hand was forced as we have no replacement winger on the bench, but we have some good youth team players that are tricky that could step up rather than play a formation that disables us.

Needs to figure the problem out and he has to stop dabbling in a 442, play weaker players out wide in a 451, but just never a 422 from the start.

Still hopeful. Not a firm believer about the comment from Camel saying we are regressing to the mean, its just I think Holloway is changing our shape way too much when all we can handle is a 4-5-1, and with that we have been truly wonderful to watch at times. Freedman set our team up in a great way, Holloway should look to basically only tweak a few things with that tried and tested formula. If he wants to overhaul over the summer, so be it, but not at the business end of the season.
