Tomorrow, climbers unleashed on the high mountains. We'll see true GC form I think.

Valverde looking cool & collected...

Pinot & Bardet could be the danger men.

Incredible from Nibali!

Would have been great to see him up against Froome and Contador. Looks a different class to the rest

Tomorrow, feel that after Porte cracked, Sky will try & hit back. Mikel Nieve was looking comfortable today, but had to pace Porte on the final climb. He's won big stages in Grand Tours, & was the best behind Froome & Quintana on Mont Ventoux. I've got involved at 16/1, but 12/1 generally & a few quid at 14/1 on betty.

Any others will be inplay, once break has formed & any tactics start to become apparent.

Ha!

Quieter time in the chess calendar (season broadly follows the football season, although there are still some tournaments in the summer). That's the world champion, Magnus Carlsen, with the jumper round his shoulders, for those who didn't get the reference.

Sky made the same old mistake yesterday, thomas should have been allowed to stay in the pelaton as he still had a decent chance of getting a good placing in the overalls. There was no need for him to drop back and help porte aswell; there was already a supporter and porte is prone to when having a bad day, having a total mare, just like last year when in second. Sky did the same thing in wiggins pre tour win attempt and thomas threw away his young rider opportunity for nothing.

Last year when val verde had a mare everyone dropped off bar quintana who remained in the pelaton.

Naive imo just like the decision not to send wiggins.

Just finished yesterdays stage, great stuff by Pinot!

Valverde seems to be struggling a bit on every climb. Reckon he's worth a lay at 1.6ish for podium?

Back from a weeks business road trip.

So I've only caught the highlights. Been enjoying the French battle for the podium, my wallet wants Valverde back in the top three, but would still be disappointed if Pinot misses out, he rides with a sort of rebel panache!

Today will sort it

Tony Martin will again monster it, anything else will be astonishing.

Liking Tom Dumoulin for a top three.

Peraud has a top quality TT, he's got the guts & engine to stay ahead of his rivals for the podium.

Valverde's experience should see him beating Pinot imo.

Pinot has the advantage of measuring his effort against Valverde, & Marc Madiot shouting at him! I've also got in mind the ride Fabio Aru put in the Giro. Lying 4th, he rode the TT of his life in front of his home supporters, to finish a brilliant second. Pinot is certainly   improving in the TT, the crowds could give him wings.

when does the TDF finish?

Sunday in Paris. But today will sort the final two spots on the podium. The finish in Paris is all about the final sprint. Generally GC position is sort of set after today's stage, they just need to stay upright on the final day.
