How long would you expect a shirt to last, if worn regularly?

How long would you expect it to take until you found a shirt from brand without the same fault?

That's a different question.  If you had one with the fault and had bought it a month ago, then I'd expect an exchange/refund - as it's not of merchantable quality.  But if a top develops a fault after three years, then I'd say it's possibly fulfilled its purpose.

I bought some Philips earphones for running.  The first set I had developed a fault in the jack (one ear stopped working basically), so I got them exchanged. I thought the fault might have been a freak thing, or something I did to them.  Anyway, I've had the second set now for 5 months, and this one has developed the same fault.  So it appears as though there could be a design fault with this product (or I've been unlucky).  I wouldn't buy another set of these now would I?  If I don't get them replaced I'll probably try another make instead.

Write the company a letter, just seems odd to me, my guess would be that it's a fault caused by something you're doing (storage, seat belts, belt buckles, button ups, washing machine, beetles etc etc) but if you want to take it up with the company you have every right to.

Yeah.

The new-ish one I have probably worn about 6 times total.

Life's too short. Unlike three years to claim a refund.

If you own G-Star clothes the only correct thing to do is burn them.
