You missed with 0.013 km which gave 6478 points.
Bingo!!!
Helped that there was a restaurant in the picture called the "Mangonui fish bar". Little bit of geekery and some help from trip advisor and you have a target to beat.
Bit disappointed to miss it by 13m to be honest. Wish I'd zoomed in a bit more now.
Isn't googling for landmarks cheating? Having said that I move the streetview around and have a wander about, is that cheating?

Yeah course it is. I just wanted to see how close I could get that was all. Was just trying to go by road signs and things then spotted the Mangonui and thought I'd google it. How was I to know they had a website I don't think cheating really applies when it's just random pics from google earth anyway. If you get a random bit of road you're just guessing anyway so it's not like there's any skill involved.

I like it when there's a bit of a sign that gives you a hint, but without giving away the country or town to obviously. This one stumped me a bit though: Click to see full-size image. |
It's the sort of place Matt would run in a mirror-universe...

Addicted. Shit at it, but addicted. (I'm putting it down to variance, and I'm getting really difficult places... )

Best is moving to road signs.
I managed 18k whilst using google. Last one was a road with no markings or signs, just green. Went for Scotland and obvs Canada.
Got one within 1km and another within 5

2 goes so far, 6kish each time. Closest is 212k - which was in New Zealand, so that could have gone horrible wrong!
Need to click more on the screen, as the clues are there

My best is still just under 12,000. But that might be changing:
You missed with 0.416 km which gave 6444 points.
That's the first go of the five. Pressure's on...
